Italy and the world continues to pay respects to a legend in opera and in life, Modena is awash with tributes throughout the day Italy has lost one of its finest ever Tribute from Bono released a statement honoring his friend. http://edition.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Music/09/06/pavarotti.dead/index.html?section=cnn_latest "Some can sing opera, Luciano Pavarotti was an opera. No one could inhabit those acrobatic melodies and words like him," Bono -- who noted that U2 wrote "Miss Sarajevo" for Pavarotti -- said. "He lived the songs, his opera was a great mash of joy and sadness; surreal and earthy at the same time; a great volcano of a man who sang fire but spilled over with a love of life in all its complexity, a great and generous friend."
wow I didnt know he was 71, o well have to tell my lil brother his name is lucjan lol. lets see what he will say.
I won't miss him. I never listened to opera. I'm not losing anything. I understand it is something to make a note of, but it won't affect me any. like Princess Di's death too. I don't see the big deal. I'm an American. It won't affect me. Except it did, it took tons of hours of tv time and pre-empted my favorite shows.
He Will Be Missed! I have to admit, I'm still laughing. That has to be the stupidest comment in the thread. We all feel for your missed TV hours.
Although your style of music wasnt to my taste, there is no denying that you were a legend of your time, and your legacy will continue for many years to come. R.I.P
