I know its kind of an old technology but I was wondering where you could obtain one and how much is the monthly and initial fee?

That will take some research. I don't want to know why?

usually the big cell phone vendors.

be warned though, that the monthly fee will be almost as much as for a cell phone.

what i would like to see making a comeback is the original small screen blackberry. the best of both worlds.

I don't think anyone carries pagers anymore.. except maybe ER doctors. You can always get a "similar" function with modern PDA phones

Okay, fine... i'll ask the question... why would you want one rather than a cell phone?

    1) less annoying
    2) you have excuse to delay reply (eg: i can't find a phone around me)

In my country, no one sells or use pagers anymore. Cell phones are more convenient to use.

That was pretty much what my response was going to be. Local drug dealers might know where to find one. I hadn't thought about Radio Shack, but they seem to be about 15 years behind modern times, so they probably will have pagers.

At mid level sit down restaurants around here they tell "That will be a 45 minute wait for a table" and they hand you a pager, usually attached to a large piece of plastic with blinking red lights. You could hang out near an Orange County, CA restaurant and have people call the restaurant and they could page you. :D

Hey, does anyone know where to get some 5 1/4" floppies?

    Get a pager from eBay.

Why not leave your phone off and let people leave a message/sms?

You have no idea how old they are. I say Radio Shack.

There's a crap load of pagers on eBay. If I wanted a pager, I'd be looking for a second hand vintage one :)

My cell phone is off (or i just let it ring out) 75% of the time.

I need a pager just because I assume its cheaper because its an older technology. How much is the service each month, in estimation?

I have one about the size of half a brick... if your willing to pay the shipping I would probably give it to you. It's an alhanumeric pager, real fancy. I also have a cell phone that is about the size of a full brick if you want that. Are you making a movie based in the early 90's and need these as props??
