When I make a website there are many things to consider such as functionallity process / forward compatibility, html, css, javascripts, php images / photoshop, seo, Databases etc etc, one of the main points to consider is monitization. I was wondering what you thought was a acceptable click through rate on your site, my 2 most profitable site have completely different percentage as the value of each click is different e.g. 100 * 0.25 and 10 * $1.25, but I always tend to keep click through in mind when making the site, and try to aim for 2 - 4%, is that about average? what kind of percentage do you all get / aim to get realistically? further thoughts?
2 - 4 % is an average for a site with about 1000 UV a day. You could get up to 15% depending on ad placement, website design, content and niche. That is, however a very good CTR and hard to achieve if you have a site with big traffic. Small sites can get a higher CTR but that varies from day to day till they mature and grow bigger if they do.
CTR of 2 or 4 percent is not too good. You need to increase it to 6 or 7 percent by placing Google ads on right places on your site. I am getting CTR of 6 percent right now
