hi, im new with adwords. can someone explain to me how i got 125% ctr? there are 4 impressions and 5 clicks. tnx!
I've had this myself in the past. Never heard a sensible explanation as to why it happens. It only happens when you've got small amounts of data though...
Hmmm... interesting - thanks for posting that! I've only ever had it happen once and someone else asked me about it too... I just assumed there was a minor delay in updating the impressions and clicks. Cheers Stewart
I wrote them an email once about this. Here's their response: Thank you for your email. I understand that you would like to know why there is a discrepancy in your campaign statistics. Below, I have explained this in detail. Typically, it isn't possible to receive more clicks than impressions. However, there are cases where your reports will reflect more clicks than impressions, or a clickthrough rate (CTR) of more than 100%. First, statistics for your ads aren't updated instantaneously. Clicks are updated about every hour and impressions are updated every few hours. Therefore, it is possible that the number of clicks displayed in your reports could exceed the number of impressions until your reports are completely updated. This usually happens by the end of the day (11:59pm in the time zone you have selected for your account). To see the greatest accuracy in your reports, we recommend reviewing a given day's reports on the following day, when the servers have finished reporting the clicks and impressions. Secondly, because browsers cache the search results and ads on the search results page, Google only registers one ad impression per search. However, your reports will show multiple clicks if a Google user clicks on your ad more than once in a cached browser session.* Please note, if your ad appears on the second or third page of search results in addition to the first page, your ad will accrue an additional impression for each page that the user views. *You may see a certain amount of multiple clicks in your weblogs. These clicks represent legitimate users accessing your advertisement in expected ways. It's possible that a user would legitimately click on your ad more than once. For example, the user may be comparison shopping or returning to your site for more information. Additionally, some Internet Service Providers assign a single IP address to more than one user. In this case, multiple clicks from the same IP address doesn't mean that someone is clicking multiple times on your ad. Let me know if there is anything else that I can do to help. Sincerely, The Google AdWords Team
