yeh they do now but the established .nets are just average compared with the .coms .com all the way if your serious, if not go with .org or your country's extension
If the ads, the pitch, and or the name of the site are appealing or it hits their curiosity, it doesn't matter what extension is used. Just make sure your site is appealing!
