I need somebody who is either an expert in press releases and/or somebody who writes and submits press releases professionally. In preparation for a rather important event involving my business, I am researching press releases so I can maximize the effectiveness of the promotion. Anybody who is interested or knows a lot about press releases, please PM me or respond.
I used to have good luck with prweb.com but it is no longer a free service. Recently, I tried http://www.prlog.org/ (which is free) and have had very fast results with them. For instance, the other day I just sent out a press release. Do a Google search on "vermonter.com changes" and you'll see the prlog.com results. I'd have to say that I'm even happier with the results than when I formerly used PRweb!
That seems like a good site. The promotion I am referring to will take place in October, so I have some time to set it up.
I'm a PR professional. You can visit www.jhmattern.com to find out info if you need a release written (in the services section). I also have several resources available on some of my sites regarding press releases. Here are some samples; hope they help: How to Write a Press Release Sample Press Release Template 25 Press Release Ideas Press Release Writing Tips 7 Signs That Your Press Release Sucks What Press Releases Aren't Effective Free Press Release Distribution in 5 Easy Steps Big List of Free Press Release Distribution Sites Also, what kind of event is it that you're talking about, and what's the goal: to have journalists mention it beforehand to get some awareness built, or to essentially invite members of the media or industry to the event to cover it live. Depending on your goal, a press release may or may not be the right tool... a media advisory might suit your needs better.
share some free press site with u : http://www.prleap.com/ http://www.pr9.net http://www.malebits.com/ and a example : http://www.prleap.com/pr/91266/
Yeah I'm seeing a lot about PRLeap and PR9, and PRLog looks pretty good as well. Things are going pretty smoothly.
Cheap as in crappy or cheap as in inexpensive? Yikes!! (I'm sure it's inexpensive, but that word is a touchy one)
What are you talking about? Are you referring to my website? In the probable case you are, then yes, inexpensive.
Yes, just the reference in your sig. No offense meant. I haven't tried PR's yet, but it sounds like it really works. I may hit up one of these pro's when I have something to announce.
I also submitted to PRLeap and saw some surprising results. A paid service to visit is www.EWorldWire.com. We submit press releases here as well as the other sites already mentioned.
There's a good post over at CopyBlogger on how to write a press release for this new social media era we're in: http://www.copyblogger.com/social-media-press-release/
Social media press releases are a crap fad some PR people dreamt up to pretend they were in tune with the Web 2.0 world. Don't waste your time.
Here is a free video to help http://www.mcreasite.com/Press_Release_Video.html I do about 50 Press Releases a year for my different businesses and clients. They work well when done right. I always hire a quality writer to do my work. Good luck.
Press Releases are nothing without proper distribution. On the other hand you can have the best distribution in the world, but if you do not have a well written press release, it won't do much. Bottom line look for a writer that understands your goals, and find a method to distribute that will make sense. PR WEB is ok for links and SEO but don't expect too many new clients from it. -C
Most press releases wouldn't directly lead to clients... if you use them properly that's just not what they're for. Even more important than hiring a writer who understands your goals is hiring one who can do that while understanding media relations enough to give you guidance on effectively reaching those goals with press releases.
