It's official Google has opened up a can of whoop ass on directories

I thought this forum was for members to express opinions?
Yet if anyone has a positive take on this issue we are sucking up for submissions?

You say this thread it’s not about “authority” yet you talk about “being kicked by the bullies” and “fighter or suckers” I could go on and on. This thread is definitely not about that.

Does this include buying links?
I believe we have both done this haven’t we?

I think that the directories will return if not then its time to move on to something new.

This is my belief; I don’t care less if my opinion gets me red rep or loses me submissions so please don’t reply with that rubbish.

If a directory has avoided this penalty if that is what it is then good luck to them, it’s also worth remembering that it could still happen.

FWIW - I think you are all F***ED - and if you are accepting submissions in this climate it is one step removed from THEFT.

The traffic is zero and the links are obviously worthless

Submission ? I think most of us are enjoying that even though there is a wave of bombings and there are rejection or acceptance as I did 5 rejections today including 1 directory.

I have a bridge in Brooklyn I can sell you if you are interested, or maybe some prime farm land in southern Florida? In order for a person to buy a link from a directory they must first visit the directory. It's not the directory owners fault that their fellow webmaster can't tell a reputable site from one smells of a link farm. Which really makes it a buyer beware market (and the same actually holds true of free directories as well).

Yes, directory links are worthless, that's why Google updated their DMOZ feed...it's also why half of the other directories have yet to be effected by the changes.

In a few days/weeks the top of Goog will be full of forum threads and blogs about "the end of directories"

Take a step back -I am not trying to be a prick - just giving some medicine that might wake you all up.

The industry is in crisis - but not in an "under the radar" way - oh no - it is all here for us "customers" to see. (And Goog)

You can't come into a forum like this with FFFFFFFFF and expect a civilized response. Good God, it took me months to even get people to give me a red rep and now I get them all the time.

Traffic is well up, submissions are well up, reviews are harder, refunds are more prevalent, I could go on, but you get my drift, don't steriotype and do what I had to, learn to conform to forum etiquette even if you don't agree with half the people on here. Then you'll get good replies.

 

You absolutely have me confused with some other person. If you would have spent 5 minutes at my directory, you would have found that out for yourself. You can ask around in this forum about MY support. It exceeds most and at least matches the best.
