Percentage of Adsense amount?

I have heard somewhere that Google pays 50% of the bidding amount of the keyword to the publishers! For eg; if the keyword "widget" is of $10, the publisher gets $5 if someone clicks on the ad. Any light on this?

Google do not disclose the percentage paid to normal AdSense publishers. It may not be a fixed amount, and could vary between publishers.

The percentage of payout can be determined from their public financial statements. It's an average of about 77% paid to publishers. They don't break out what they pay to certain premium publishers (like AOL) so it may or may not be slightly less to regular publishers - but 77% is what they wind up paying out in total. They do state that they pay all regular publishers the same percentage.

I can't remember what the average figure is, but it has been roughly determined using Google's quarterly financial statements. I think it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-70%

No. The highest bids are for google search. Content (what publishers run) pricing is usually considerably less - and then subject to smart pricing. Many advertisers don't even run ads on the content network so the highest paying ads never show on adsense sites. There is no way to determine what you can anticipate to get, but most publishers would be happy with a 50 cent average. Payouts per click of more than a dollar or two are extremely rare.

I was talking about ads that run only on google - publishers do not have the ability to show those ads - only google.

Advertisers have the ability to run ads on "Google search" "Search network" and "Content network". Regular adsense publishers only get to show the "Content network" which as stated, many advertisers skip because of performance and click fraud.

According to Adsense API, it seems they pay 75% to the publishers.

I think it is a lot lower than 50%. I get paid 1 cent for some of my clicks on my sites, and I wonder, is google only getting a penny for it too? I doubt it.
