hello! How bad is that i have 20 rows javascript on my index page between <head> </head> tags??? Without this java my menu does not work correctly. So , tell me is this javascript there will have negative effect over my SEO??? Thank you very much guys!
No it will be just fine. If you're really worried about it, you can put it in an external javascript file and reference it like this instead: <script src="myjsfile.js"></script>
cool , thanks ... i ask because in one other SEO forum there was a link to a blog , where its says that this is not good for SEO..... i am confused now
Just take care that you also have "real" links with your menu. Because search engines don't read javascript, and if your links aren't html only, they'll not be counted as backlinks, and the crawler will not know them, and not crawl them.
If you have the link on-hand, could you post it? I'd be interested in checking it out... I don't think it would effect your rankings, but I'm no expert... Also, if you're using the same code in multiple pages, you might want to put it in an external file... for 2 reasons, it saves bandwidth if the user visits more then 1 page, and it (sometimes) makes the users loading times go down...
See if u put that code in external file it will reduce the size of your index page and in this way it will take less time to load the page. so it is batter to put that code in external file.
the javascript in the head! and yes , i have real links in my menu , but in the beggining they are hidden with CSS , then , when someone click over the main section , there appears drop-down and links to sub-categories are there..... well i dont know if you understand me , so i will give you the link: http://mp3mp4-players.com thanks to all of you guys.
