Best combination of ad+affiliate programs?

Hiya, I've been browsing these forums for a bit now, and I have a question so I thought I'd register and post it :)

I was just generally wondering, what would be a good combination of ad+affiliate programs for a website that's just starting out - so I can't meet any traffic requirements.

Right now I was thinking of using AdSense with amazon's affiliate whenever I talk about a certain product, would that be a good idea? I know it's against the TOS to use other contextual ad programs with adsense so that puts a damper on things.

and another question, I want to use a CPM service for more 'reliability' - I've heard that adsense offers a CPM service, but just wanted to double check that - does it? and, is it a worthwile CPM service to use?

so, theoratically, I could have adsense contextual links together with other banners or affiliate links on my website without breaking the TOS, right?

sorry for all the questions, but this is the best place I could find to ask them

Yes, Adsense does have a CPM service, but how well it would do on your site, nobody can tell you, not even google as it's up to the advertisers. You will not earn any CPM rates unless advertisers directly choose your website to advertise with. How much they pay also depends on the advertisers. Personally the more quality traffic they get back from your site, the more higher they are likely to bid on your ad space, meaning a higher CPM rate.

Oh, thanks - so AdSense is probably not the best CPM provider to use for a new site.
Could you recommend a good CPM service then?
