Who is even talking about how many searches does a keyword get? and how old is your internet life? 1 year ? two years? We are talking about SERPs and how much relevant the keyword is. If google does not rank for the keyword "search engine" then they simple don't consider their site to hold the top spot for this keyword. B/W according to overture this keyword gets 14,043.2 searches /day
The keyword might have receive traffic- I'm not debating that. I didn't even check the overture results before posting my earlier post. My simple point was that it looks weird that somebody would go to a search engine to search the term ''search engine''. Not impossible or improbable, simply weird. As for the Wiki article , some people probably want to know what precisely a web directory is when they type 'web directory'. I do not object to its placing on the first page, but I'm not entirely sure that I agree with the rest of the results.
Look at how many are 'supposedly' searching for "search". I'll bet altavista and dogpile are getting rich off that one....
3 billion results!. i think that might be the most i ever seen!. How did crappy live.com get to be number one? MSN search is the worse search engine!
