Best ways to get traffic

Hi,
Can anybody suggest some best ways of getting unique traffic to my website. I don't mind spending few bucks on that.

I would agree with everyone that unique content is the first thing you need to have.

If you are willing to spend some money you should also consider some pay-per-click advertising through Google (Adwords). Yahoo also lets you buy pay-per-click but I have always personally had more luck with Google. I also find that while content network brings you traffic the better traffic tends to be from people who search you on Google itself.

I would also highly recommend that you pay Yahoo the $299 to get included in their directory. That really worked well for me, but my site has been online since 1999 so paying for Yahoo with an old site and a lot of original content made me soar in the Yahoo rankings.

I would stay away from buying traffic from those who sell it in bulk. That tends to come from pop-unders and other such things and does not really help much, in my opinion, unless you are trying to inflate your uniques for some reason. You have to remember though that your average time spent online will suffer if you do buy pop-under traffic. Redirect traffic is a complete waste, at least it was for me.

Yeah if you wanna wait for search engine traffic that is....refer to all above....and some old fashioned SEO with appropriate tags.

Or splash out on some ad's - I spend about $300 a week on ad's and get around 15000 - 20000 uniques per day - not all paid for as some return and then search engines send about 1000 a day also.

After the launch of my sites I used to do both.For the first month I do both methods and after that when I get enough traffic from second methods.I just get rid of first.

pay for it using adwords and yahoo and live.com and then focus on organic rankings deploying SEO tactics ie generating backlinks and using unique content so that you can achieve high SERP

 

If you can afford it buy traffic from adwords or submit to as many social bookmarking sites as possible.

 

Just Do SEO for your site.. You will get unique, targeted traffic...

Alternative, you may try offline promotion. Good luck.

 

Definitely lot of persistence in adding more interesting articles about rare stuff, with SEO you don't have to pay a cent for ads and the visitors are sure to come. Just need to keep it INTERESTING!

 

Pay Per Click (Google Adwords) might be an option, but only if your niche isn't packed.
