I'm building my links to obtain a higher PR and I'd like to know how many links should I get per a day or week? I don't want to get penalize for link spamming. Can someone help me?
As long as your building links organically you can get them as quickly as you can. Don't worry about getting too many of them too fast. Purchasing links however should be gradual. I generally go for 10-20 per month, per site at the most.
It makes me laugh when someone asks something and someone answers something totally different and then the next person copies the first person that replied.
I'm building my links back up and was wondering, wouldn't it be obvious to Google if your domain name is only 3 months old and you've bought a couple of PR 6 links. Is this still okay?
Its better to build 1k to 2k links per month. But its highly recommended to use different anchor texts.
Different anchor texts will also help you rank for a wider variety of keywords, apart from making the links look more natural...........
I think he/she means that they want to build backlinks to their site but don't want to build them too rapidly causing it to look like a bomb. OP, I don't know "how many" is acceptable, but some have advised you with their experience already. I would agree with keeping your anchors very relative to your site's content and use a variety of different anchor text, instead of bean soup, make it 20 beans
Also you can use automatic link exchange service that builds links gradually and wisely. There is one - LinksJunk.com
Sorry, I'm still new to SEO. Can you give an example of a different Anchor Text. Are you meaning use the same url or just change up the text?: <a href="http://www.musclemx.com">Bodybuilding Forums</a> Code (markup):
Anchor text is one of the most important things in SEO. You can manipulate search engine results by using specific keywords in anchor text of incoming links to your website. Google has created an algorithm for preventing such abnormal behavior, it is called "google bombs". So if you use only only one specific keyword or key phrase google can devalue the importance of such links. So all you have to do is create incoming links that contain your keywords in different combinations.
thanks for the info as I now know what to do. You guys are the best!! Green Reps to all those that responded to this thread.
As far as you're getting backlinks from quality sites it will be OK. Just don't use the same anchor text for all links and you will be fine.
Anchor Text is the text that you click which takes you to the website. <a href="www.google.com">This is Anchor Text</a>
