First $50 day using Blogger!

Took nearly 2 years but finally got my first $50 day using only blogger.

I use blogs as they cost nothing to run and I'm terrible at web design, I've about 8 blogs in total with a couple of core ones providing the majority of the earnings, a few in development and a few I'm trying to increase earnings.

I actually earned $70 today when you take in to account other advertising I use on the blogs such as Commision Junction and Amazon Affiliates but this is my first $50 day from Adsense.

My target now is a consistent $100 a day, as I live in Eastern Europe this is quite a significant amount to earn, a lot more than a Doctor does here.

It varies.

I've two blogs with about 1000 unique visitors a day and these bring in between $10-$25 a day, I've 3 which bring in a steady $3 or so a day with between 100-400 visits and the others sometimes make pennies and sometimes a few dollars.

Getting a blog to make a consistent $1 a day with adsense is a lot tougher than some might think, I've had one blog with 600 or so visits a day make less than a dollar a day when a similar blog with the same traffic and layout was making a lot more... just different content.

One thing I have been doing is trying to predict who/what will become popular i nthe next few months and make a blog about it. Myspace unsigned artists and Amazon advance sales list are a good indicator.

I started the Colbie Caillat blog when she was top of Myspace unsigned. when she got signed and released an album I was in great position in the google searches to take advantage:

Sold lots of her albums and other things people added to the orders as well as some adsense clicks.

Had some blogs running for a few years and some for a few months. I try think of a few ideas every day and usually make a few blogs a week, I end up deleting a lot though if they don't do good.

Nearly all the traffic is from google, I post a few links on forums but I've not paid a cent to get any traffic or for any hosting, domains etc.

Subject wise they vary, some about IT, music, pizzas, parents. I try keep the content static, I don't like writing posts so I usually make the blog, try promote it a bit and see how it does. I maybe make 1 post a day to the blogs which takes 5 minutes (1 post total a day I mean across all blogs)

I think that for your two or three top blogs you should buy a domain. It definitely should increase your traffic as some don't like to click on sub domains.

 

Yes I agree. However someone thought of that before I did! and snapped up the domains.

Luckily they don't get much traffic but for any of my new projects I'm going to purchase the domian.

I do this now as my job even though it doesn't take much of my time, it might sound strange to be using blogger for a job but where I live a normal salary for working full time in a store is about $250 a month.

I can make $10 a day with Ebay very easy so it's no sense for me to even try a job here especially now my blogger earnings are now getting to this level.

If you can earn in dollars here you can have a nice life!

I know practically nothing about these!

For Colbie Caillat I started the site, knew she had a chance to become popular as she had millions of plays of her music so started thinking about what people would be searching for.

I came up with song lyrics, guitar chords/tabs as the main things to concentrate on as often you hear a song and search for a few words of it.

I listened on myspace and slowly wrote down the lyrics by listening to the songs many times and the posted them to the site. I also searched for her on google (there was about 12 results at that time) and then added a comment to any pages I found with a link to the site.

As you can see now about most of the traffic is google/yahoo searches for her lyrics/guitar chords

For my other sites I try to post in relevant forums or add comments to news articles I find in google. whether this works or I have been lucky I do not know, but some have good rankings, my best a PR5.
