Forum Question.

I will be starting a forum about web-development with free templates, scripts, tutorials etc. Now I want to make money with it, I came up with the following :

- VIP section [ Contains VIP templates, VIP tutorials ]
- Ads [ Just a little banner at the top ]

Now I want to know how much I could make with this a month, with let's say 1000 unique hits a day.

Depends how good your site is and how expensive everything is. If your VIP content is crap and you're charging $50 a week, you'll make $0. If your VIP content is awesome and not found anywhere else, and costs a one time fee of $2, you might make quite a lot.

It's up to you to find the sweetspot inbetween.

 

Do you think it is possible to make 100$ a month ?

 

That's about how much my brother makes on his gaming forum with Adsense alone.

 

With how many visitors a day ?

 

I'm not sure, but it's in the hundreds for sure. I don't think it's 1000 per day, but I could be wrong.

 

I am new to forums but made one of my own.(JUST A FEW DAYS OLD) But dont know about VIP Content or like that it is just based on a community. Can you tell me if it is going to work or not..the url is http://www.punjab-forums.com

You just cant make 100s of dollars by selling $2 subscriptions..

Anyhow all depends on the quality of the traffic

Adsense ads should help reach your goal

 

It depends on the quality of the visitors and your content,

if both are okay,and you can maket it in the right way,

that will bring you $$$,i know a site which do not have any pr,

but do own good traffic and content,people pay the link 30$ for each.

Which should not reach 1000 visitors per day.

Take a look at TheAdminZone.com (TAZ). It's a forum for forum admins.
They should have some ideas about how to do that.

This is assuming that your 1,000 unique visitors are authentic/natural

That said, getting 1,000 unique visitors per day to a forum is not an easy task. If you are into this solely for the money, you have a rough road ahead. Forums are hard to monetize compared to other ventures on the web...If you can get a solid forum up and running, it can yield good long-term profits, but it is very hard to get a forum to this point.

 

I guess I'll make it a non forum first. Once I get 1000 UV daily, I will set up a forum too.
