Think that we all need some kind of boost in everyone's spirit especially directory owners..... Despite all the chaos and rumors and speculation going on about how G seems to be 'penalizing' many quality directories, it's good to know that SEO companies still believe in the value-provided by directories. My regular submissions from some SEO companies have continued over the past few days, it's not huge but at least they are continuing their submissions for their clients. I'm sure i'm not the only one, so take heart! Nevertheless, I'm also reviewing how I can improve my directories to provide more value and quality that consumers and search engines (not just G wants), which I believe will also serve to enhance our sites. I'm confident we will get through this stronger like gold that is refined by fire!
I'm sure we will. So you're working on making your "Strong PR6" more valuable to consumers. What steps are you taking?
same here ... this is still faith regardless of what users think because my visitors still visits my site and enjoy it because i see tons of returning visitors ... and submissions also.
Yeah I believe in Faith and I also believe in the wrath of the Angel of Death and the 7 Horsemen, who by the way is still riding the web in swift action.
It's more than a matter of Faith. It's also a matter of commitment. A directory website pretty much needs to stay a directory. And just because a few directories don't rank for their own names is hardly a reason to jump off a building.
I am getting frequent submissions in my directories, but few things we have to care about: 1- Should add sufficient unique content in order to show uniqueness 2- Shouldn't approve every listing in directory, only sites obeying submission guide lines get approval 3- Try removing/deleting/editing duplicate entries/pages etc...
Its business as usual which means catering for your clients etc etc And working hard to provide unique value added services
Very nice post indeed.. I do receive various bulk submission offers from SEO guys.. Google is "not the only" search engine...
Present day appears good, but it is the future that gives me the cold feeling. I hope this ends soon. BTW: Going to launch a new dir now. To hell with google. Al
I have faith in myself and most of my fellow directory owners (those that aren't in it for the money) we will triumph over all adversity
i feel the industry will survive..if i didnt feel that way,i wouldnt continue to pump resources in promotions..
That's the best news I've heard all day, can you tell me which quality directories Google is penalizing though? I thought it was only the PR chasers that it was hitting?
