Hi north, I know your a sincere debater but you should know that the internet is full of 'bs' like this. This is not "evidence" to me. Though I hate the khomenis I don't regard them as fellow Muslims, I don't think they have said such disgusting things.

I do know the internet is full of b.s., though I can't aver, necessarily like this. I also know that without sitting down with the Ayatollah, and asking him, I'd have no proof and even then, unless I trusted my senses, I wouldn't know. In other words, at some point, all of us depend on source materials, and on our assessment of same. Each of us obviously has to make up our minds on what we trust, and what we don't. I have given this weight, due to its extensive cross-referencing from what appear to be entirely credible sources. In this realm, matters of "I think" and "I don't think" slip away, and, "what does the evidence say" come to the fore, do they not?

Regardless, I can debate this. I cannot debate: "you're only doing this because you hate muslims," or "it was all a fantasy of a rabid anti-religion atheist," or some such drivel.

 

I do not wish to "debunk" this site because I know my religion has nothing to with this disgusting matter. If it were true, you would hear human rights group speaking out about these disgusting things. When you have a religion with almost 2 billion followers, I don't think all these crimes would be left unnoticed. Do you agree or not?

 

Depends on what a certain country defines as 'crimes'.
For example, certain countries permit having sexual intercourse as well as marrying 9 year old girls. While a lot of people might consider it as absolutely wrong and disgusting, these certain countries do not.
Do we not have enough countries who are built on a Muslim principals ?
Therefor, i do not agree.
I think many crimes go unnoticed.

I wouldn't, I would question the source because a figure like the Pope just cannot do these things. Of course you have the right to question. Khomeni to Iran is like the Pope to Catholics, so you gotta understand that this man is trusted my millions around the world. M5Love, I'm a little confused by your post above - if I've gotten you right, you ask, would I feel the same if it were the Pope, and my answer would be absolutely. And if Catholic apologists responded as I have seen some do on this thread, again, absolutely - I'd hold them to the same standard.

More, as I've said, I'm an atheist; not that I wear it as a badge of faith (and believe me, from my perspective, it is as much a religion as any other), but because my atheism leads me to care about the world of men, women and children in the here and now. Unlike the Pope, the Reign of the Ayatollahs established by Khomeini is very much a theocracy, with religious policies that impact upon people, in very ordered, secular ways, in the here and now. Hence, what Khomeini, the Founder, said and promulgated, I think, is an entirely salient topic of conversation.
