How can this be possible?

I am running 2 campaigns for 2 different clients in the same sector.

One of them has a $1.50 max CPC, is 'Great' and is at position 32 (keyword is nothing to do with the other adgroup below).

The other has a $1.80 max CPC, is 'Great' and is the exact match for the search term, yet its position is #78, the lowest on the list!

Any ideas how this can be possible?

    Thanks

Possibly CTR? Ad relevance? There are alot of factors that can go into determining the ad position

Bear in mind that you're looking at the minimum bid quality score, not the ranking quality score...

I assume that you are saying that the minimum bids are the same, not just 'Great'?

The minimum bids are calculated using the MBQS, but there's no reason to assume that they are the same thing. A range of MBQS's could yield the same minimum bid.

Finally, I assume that you're looking at the ranking positions on Adwords, not manually searching on www.google.com? Or at the least, using www.google.com/adpreview...

Do your clients know this? Not once have we taken on a client without a non compete and non disclosure agreement. Isn't this a HUGE conflict of interest?

There doesn't need to be a conflict of interest - you can run each campaign according to its own budget and conversion rate, so the bids probably won't be the same on both campaigns.

The only conflict of interest that I can see is when writing advert text - if one campaign has an advert that works, should you copy it on to the other one?

I do agree that you should make it clear to both businesses in advance if you are taking on another account...
