PageRank for a website with no backlinks

Your site can have zero results when searched with link: tag, but still have a pagerank.

did you see mine? it has 0 backlinks and its pr2 it was 4 a few months back

if that is new site and the home page got PR with out any back link, i don't think it's possible

i think this case mostly happens to internal pages...

maybe internal links did it, like on wikipedia

 

There's a DPer selling links here in the Buy/Sell forum on a PR4 site with no backlinks.

Maybe it's an expired domain or something else; I don't know because I didn't research it all that deeply.

 

How this is possible.You should have many backlinks for getting PR3.I think ur saying this because u check ur backlinks with some tools ?

Just check it with google webmasters tool and u will see the correct number.

Not to hijack the thread - but have you thought about changing your username?

 

Yahoo says the site has 19 backlinks. Just remember that Google does not show all backlinks in the link command. You need to go into webmaster tools to find the true count.

 

The site does have links. I wish you guys would look around a little.

Yip...

Yahoo is very fast at finding where the links come from and have no problem finding them...
as a matter of fact yahoo seems to send 3 times as many bots to analyze data compared
to google in my directories..

I have checked the site http://www.flash-wheel.net/ yes it have a PR of 4. I checked a WHOIS of that domain and find that it was registered on Creation date: 19 Aug 2007 10:21:10. So most probably that domain owner purchased an expired domain... Otherwise there is no chance for that domain to get a PR as thre is no content at all in that site...

 

I see over 1600 backlinks in yahoo.

go to http://www.seomoz.org/page-strength and check it there.

the PR is from various foreign sites that have linked to this page.
