I didn't know that each PR thread would create such an uproar :) With the amount of threads on that Q3 PR thread, it can be a blog / forum by itself.

I'm just saying what I observe / see. If you don't agree, speak out and list your reasons so we can all learn. This is what this forum is for anyway. Please don't just give the response "I don't think it has happened" since there's no credibility without reason. (post count and reputation doesn't count either since you can be a Yahoo expert and know nothing about Google for all I know :))

Apparently, the moderators agreed with vexx. :D

That hasn't been my experience. But then I've always had my eyes firmly on the long run and I've been willing to build slowly with that in mind. I started my main site (although originally with another domain name, but I was later able to notify most of my backlinks to alter the links to the new domain) in 1996. I think the problem with most new webmasters is "I want it all and I want it now".

I don't think Google is going to do anything about it. Yahoo.com is not a fly by night operation, not a free-for-all link farm, and they do employ quality control factors, and I don't think Google has any problem with that at all. But let's be honest: The vast majority of directories you see being flogged and even praised here at DP are not in the same ballpark at all. We all know why they exist and what they are and so does Google.

Profit ... that indeed is the bottom line, the Holy Grail, for a publicly traded company, as Google is. However, in achieving those profits, most publicly traded companies are acutely aware of the vital importance of customer satisfaction. I would suspect that Google has substantial staff in their Marketing department working on customer satisfaction.

    just checked google webmaster center:
    it says:

Your page with the highest PageRank
Aug - Data is not available at this time.

    Does it mean anything?

Wow, my sites are also saying "Data is not available at this time" for Aug on the webmaster tools. Maybe they are doing away with PR...

Who are Google customers? AdWords advertisers.

To keep them happy, Google wants to provide decent search results. That makes Internet searches secondary customers.

Webmasters? We rate somewhere below the illegal immigrants who clean the Googleplex.

Precisely. I've never understood why so many webmasters and so-called/self-styled SEO "experts" have such difficulty understanding this.

Wow, braxter made a joke. A psychologist who just happens to own a website, ragging on about self-styled SEO experts... I get it. Good one. :D

Speaking of self-styled "experts", here's vandermar.

Not surprisingly, you can't even manage to spell my name correctly. Don't you have anything better to do? Homework? Cleaning your room? Anything?

Oh, wow, so that's why you have that thing for me... you think I'm a kid.

    So braxter, still homebound?

Btw, any bets on the PR update happening tonight or tomorrow, being a holiday weekend and all?

I have no idea how old you are and I don't care. The point of my comment was that you act like a child.

Google is definately doing SERP updates at the moment, I've just had a site unsandboxed and coming up nicely for keyphrases that werent listed last week.

    PR and backlinks remain unchanged.

Has anyone noticed a visible change in the PR of his/her sites in the DataCenters? I suspect that the export is about to begin very soon. Nevertheless, I must recognize that I don't have a clue, neither a reasonable prove, just a hunch.
