I'm moving to a new CMS, and am looking for someone who wants to hire themselves out to help me edit a template. I have a basic template, but am not skilled in design......

I'm also looking for ideas or suggestions with said template to make the new site more interactive for visitors...

If you are interested in this project, please feel free to email me and I'll give you the particulars.

Capper, you're going to find it hard to find a decent contractor unless you spell out the requirements ahead of time, since they tend to use the project requirements to pre-screen themselves.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Yeah, true enough.....been busy so i haven't had much time. afew people have emailed me, but they have been a little expensive for what I expected.....right now I'm looking at just buying a template and customizing it myself.

And someone else will come along and quote a lower price than you. Which is why one should never, ever quote (or shop around, in the case of prospective clients) based on price. It's simply bad business all around, for the client, developer, and the people who will be leaving in frustration never to return because they could not use the Web site.

Why are all these people offering to do this job, when they don't even know what the job actually is?

Hopefully this example will clarify things.

I put an advertisement in the paper saying I have a plumbing job available. What I don't mention is that I need someone to repair an industrial pipe (yeah, the really big ones that the public never gets to see) in a skyscraper. Plumbers all over the area see the ad and calll me, figuring that I just need a leaky faucet or toilet fixed, saying that they can do the job profesisonally for a reasonable fee.

In my haste, I figure I'm going to trust them on their word, pay them half their fee up front, and bring them to the site, expecting them to have their own tools and whatnot.

Talk about setting oneself up for a major disappointment when the plumber can't do the job that I needed to be done.

Okay, sorry, I'm dealing with a really sick dog this weekend, and I'm more than a little distracted. For a little background, my 9 yr old German Shepperd became very ill last week, out of the blue, and we've been to a couple different vets every day doing testing to figure out whats happening. To make matters worse, he was our Wedding present from my father, and is basically our child....to make matters worse, our anniversary is Thursday, and we've basically been resigned to the fact that he is is going to need to be put to sleep today or tomorrow.

Anyway.....I have a template I like, and everyone seems to like it, but I'm having some trouble customizing it and making it HTML compliant. I am also trying to find out how to move my sites content to Article Live and mesh the new template with their software. So its nota major job, which undoubtedly will scare people off, its also not what I'd consider an expensive project.

Wow Capper, I'm sorry to hear that. I had a German shephard I rescued from an abusive owner that had left the dog to die after moving about ten years ago. One of my neighbors didn't like the dog (which I had completely rehabilitated and socialized - he especially loved being around children) and poisoned him. Given how quickly he became a member of the family, and "my dog" in particular, I understand how you must be feeling right now.

However, this thread isn't about your dog, so I'm going to steer this back on topic while I can. You mentioned you're using Article Live. Do you mean http://www.interspire.com/articlelive/ from Interspire by any chance?

Capper, I wasn't jumping down your throat. Your explaination of your recent absence reminded me of something that happened to me, is all. If my sharing of it (as an illustrative example that I do understand what your'e going through first hand) offended you, I'm sorry, for that was not my intention.
