There is someone that paid me $25 for a service. Then the next day i got an email from paypal that it was unauthorized payment sent to you. SO a dispute is open... Now if i dont reply to the dispute what will happen? Will they take the $25 away? I already cancelled that guy's service, so i am willing to give his $25 back. Please clear me on this
If you won't reply to the dispute you will simply lose the money, though there are little chances you win that but still you should try to solve the problem. As you said, you are willing to pay the person back, just ask him to close the dispute and then refund him otherwise you can't even refund him because disputed money is LOCKED.
I think the person that sent me the money used a hacked paypal account... I will email the person and tell him to close the dispute so i can give him his money back. Should i do that?
I had a similar problem. I okayed the refund of the money-- however PayPal wanted to charge me $10.00. That is unfair and I told them so. They refunded the $10.00 chargeback fee. Q...
Well if you can just refund the money, then do that. Most likely PayPal would be charging a fee as Qisoftware mentioned but I am not sure about that. If refund works that would be the best option and PayPal would come to know that you are a legit person not a scammer.
Refund the money or they will just do it anyway. You should just get a merchant account. You won't have to worry about hacked paypal. Paypal refunds money all the time even when the services or products has been delivered. All the customer has to do is file a complaint. The merchant rarely wins with paypal disputes unless they have overwhelming evidence and a genie.
Weird. I was just scammed out of that much money and I just opened a dispute about it. :-/ My account got broken into and someone made an unauthorized transaction.
If you don't reply then Paypal will take the money and your account will become a limited account forever, which is really bad. So just refund it, or fight. Don't ignore it.
If you don't reply, paypal will take the money and probably place a red flag on your account. If you reply then it shows that you care about your customer and business. Of course a simple reply to say that you have refunded the money would suffice.
If you don't reply you simply lose the dispute. In this situation, even if you do reply you lose the dispute. It's pretty much a lose-lose for you. :/
This is my first dispute ever and i dont know what to do When i go to RESOLVE it asks for personal info like phone number and the person's shipping address which i dont know! What can i do? Please help i got 2 days left for answer Also ii have more money in the account, i hope that wont get affected? and i can easily transfer to my bank account?
I supposed the person uses the Email Pay method and selected Products. Next time use the Invoicing method for them to pay you so that you will not end up with this issue. Since you cancelled the service already, just said that you have cancelled the service and you have refunded the buyer the money, of course you will need to really refund them the money then the issue is closed. Your existing funds (minus what the person paid) would not be affected.
Look at the actual paypal transaction in dispute to see if they provided a shipping address. If not, just issue a refund.
Its already $-25 shows in my account, so you mean i send him $25 of my own and then the issue will close?
I am just going to let them take the money away, i will not respond. Hopefully my account + Money wont be affected. Hopefully i am taking a good decision?
Well showing paypal that you're not willing to put forth a good faith effort is definitely not a good decision.
I would respond and say that you have no problems returning the money. You did not know it was a hacked account that paid you. Do not refund the money in the middle of a dispute as they might not realize it and will still take the money at the end of the dispute. Just respond to PayPal, let it run its course and PayPal will return the money. Don't ignore it but respond and state your innocence. Unless your account has a pattern of fraud it won't be red flagged over this.
