How Long Until Your First Sale [bum marketing]

I was wondering how long it took you guys until you made your first sale with bum marketing [modified article marketing]

how many articles did you have to write to get there

 

i thought bum marketing was giving homeless people a sign to hold up with your url on it for $20

 

LOL didn't some company do that?

I wonder how well that would work?

For a side-project I am using bum marketing to promote a product that is certainly not in my main niche. I have 5 articles written so far, with over 60 clicks according to ezinearticles, but no sales as of yet. I am going for at least 10 just for this product.
