The title is NOT true, BUT - this would make me feel much better if they did so, I mean with all of the threads and blog posts lately on how "Google is penalizing paid links" This would protect the buyers of text link ads, from being knocked around by the Big G Don't you think?
PLUS - the buyers have some piece of mind that they won't be targeted by the paid links filter, Matt says; " Only links that are being bought for PR will be penalized" So by adding the "No follow" attribute like they say can only give the buyers more piece of mind, from getting hit hard
I hope they dont, simply because i never use them to buy/sell links because their "cut" is too high. I go to the source and get the links cheaper, so if they Nofollowed more would do the same and ruin my game plan Note to Matt Cutts im joking, really i am
I don't think that would serve the purpose. If people are merely buying links for traffic they can go for some javascript links. But should they do a nofollow and use a site like TLA just my op
"Most people buy TLA ads for traffic, don't they" ? Are you serious? I'd wager 95% of text link buyers don't even look at the traffic figures for the sites they buy links on. You're not going to get traffic from those sites, no way. If you're looking for traffic, you'd look elsewhere, and you'd be buying banners, and paying way more than you do for text link ads.
i think they are thinking alternatives like that . it's better to wait and see what google is going to do for paid links
Seems like TLA have pocketed enough and want to go out of business. I never bought a link from there for mere traffic. Adwords much much better for traffic.
I can't imagine anyone paying the prices they ask without any search engine benefit. They would need to lower all prices and that is not going to happen. Maybe introduce a 'nofollow' option. If someone really is paranoid enough to pay the same price and make it nofollow, why not let them?
Nope - have a look in the link sales forum here on DP. First question is almost always "what's your PR?" If TLA added no follow I'm pretty sure they would lose 80% of their advertisers.
It would, but then again the prices for the text links will crash. No one would purchase links for the prices they currently charge for minor traffic.
In my opinion the price for these "nofollow" links will go way down. Nobody would buy them, PPC will be a more effective way to attract visitors.
I agree with this. TLA network is based on getting links from related sites with good PR. That is why they don't accept sites / blogs having PR 0, 1 and 2. I seriously think it will affect their business if they used no follow.
What's the purpose of buying links then ? Traffic ? Common a few uniques a day isn't worth paying 20$/mo imo. If they add no-follow it would be end of TLA.
