Hey guys, I need this site - www.kules.com to have a few plugins intalled. I have done the installation, but am not sure how to do the template changes. If you are interested in helping me out, please let me know how soon you can do it, and how much u can charge. Oh, and I prefer to go through details on msn if that is possible. Cheers, Cindy
What do you mean by template changes? If you need the plugins activated just log in to your admin panel, click on Plugins and activate the ones you need.
Yup as suggested above u don't need any changes done to ur templates, its just that the plugins u installed haven't been activated yet, also remember to check if your plugin is compatible with your wordpress version
hmm... ok - there were a few problems with that - maybe that is what is wrong... I want to put in a plugin to show the lastest p osts - don't you need to change anything? just active the bits?
Yup, just upload into your plugins folder, login to ur admincp click on plugins tab ..check for your plugin and click activate..remember to check if its compatible with your wordpress version.
You don't need a plugin to show recent posts. This will do it: <ul> <?php wp_get_archives('type=postbypost&limit=5'); ?> </ul> This will list 5 recent posts.
yeah.. ok - I had a look, i had these mods on my other template - and it came all ready to go - i just had to activate the mods. Now it's not working... I might need to just look through the other template thing if no-one can help
What exactly isn't working, please be more specific. Btw, I'm moving this to services since this has nothing to do with templates.
Oh, thank you for moving it I want to use these plugins: Comment Quicktags Extended Comment Get Recent Comments Submit It Plugin I have uploaded them and activated them, but there is nothing that looks different. I think i need to put some code in the theme template files, but don't know where to do that, and dont have the time to learn. This is why I am happy to pay someone if they know how to do it - am guessing for someone who knows what they are doing it is probably an easy job.
As i mentioned in my previous post some mods doesn't work with certain WP versions, i think its due to that.
I am not sure with what you mean by versions, because i am using the same wp version as i had yesterday - it's just s different template. So, you are saying that it doesn't work with all templates? Or versions?
Its like some plugins work for wordpress 1.xx but the same mod doesn't works properly on 2.xx , either this is the case or as u mentioned some mods does require you to add certain codes into your php files.
nope, it's not that at all. I have had a look. For some plugins they are not easily configured etc in the options panel - and you manually need to change the code. Don't worry - i have added a couple, think i am getting better at it. Guess I saved some money... lol
