As some of you know I started a Developer resource about a month ago. I've been working on link building, promoting, seo but I need some help for ranking in SERP's. I know the key to getting high in SERP's for a keyword is getting relevant links from high PR sites with a relevant anchor text. So far I have accumulated about 900 backlinks in a month and my website is predicted PR5. So I am doing a nice job on link building although my goal is to reach a PR6 on the update, moreover, for each link that I buy or exchange I use the anchor title/text: Developer or Developer and IT. At first I did Developer and IT, but later on changed it to just Developer. I know it would be easier to rank for software developer, web developer, or game developer but my website covers all three of those niches so I thought it would be better to use just developer. As of now Google doesn't show any results because the website is still pretty new but if you have any tips that I could use for ranking for the term Developer I would more than appreciate it. I have a few questions also, I see many people for example in bid directories always use their website title instead of their desired SERP keyword isn't that wrong? If I buy links on a high PR site homepage or bid directory on the top should I use the keyword Developer or my website title the Dev Network? thanks, all your help will be greatly appreciated.
Continue building backlinks with ur keyword as Anchor Text.t will definitely bring u good SERP.What all methods u use for link building ? Directory Submission,Article Submission,Blog Commenting,Forum Posting,Social Bookmarking ?
Directory submission a lot, Article Submission more than 200, Blog commenting only on a few tech related DoFollow blogs, not much forum posting only on a few forums, Social Bookmarking yes, I compiled a list of without NoFollow Social Bookmarking sites myself so I get backlinks. No but I did do Article releases, I will do free press releases for now.
I would suggest starting with long tail keywords first since they are less competitive. Once you start getting traffic on those, you can ad more broad keywords. Also try article marketing.
You need to be careful. Not one of the replies has mentioned that building links quickly over a short period of time could find your site hitting a google filter or penalty as it will raise a red flag. Your buying links, Google frowns against this, and you might find that these links are worthless. Whilst links are important, forget about adding more and build on content, make it a useful resource that people want to link to - one way links, not reciprocal or paid for links.
Thanks I make sure my link are all super quality, and I do provide original content in the Articles and Interviews, as a matter of fact my articles have reached pretty good SERP's themselves ex. I wrote on Mod_Rewrite for SE Friendly URL's now it's on the top page for mod_rewrite url's so that's good. As mentioned before try using easier keywords such as software dev, game dev, etc. I think it might be too late since I have done a lot of link building. And about paid links, I have actually emailed a few sites to do link exchanges etc. with them and some reply back.
You have to submit your site with high Page rank and valued backlinks. Bcoz it is very important for your site where you are submitting. Quality content is an important for get more traffic. Rahul
I hope you have submitted your website to major directories & major search engines. cause this will help you to build your serp even better. make some backlinks, articles, etc. all the best regards Jerry
Whoa! I have some good news. Today I checked my AWStats and it said 2 people found my website with these keywords: 1. Developer 2. Network 3. Smilies But anyways the good news is I must have ranked for the term Developer my goal for a short time because it isn't showing my site anymore on the top 100 results. So it means I have a chance! Now to do more link building!
getting that amount of backlinks within that short time could harm you seriously. I heard about google punishing sites which get more than 100 links per month. build your links slowly dude!
