Pagerank has nothing to do with SERP. It is good only to attract some visitor when they see a high PR.
All you guys should check this post --to educate yourselves. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=4336347&postcount=1
I own 10 websites/blogs I've probably made more money on a 0 page rank site than most have with a 5 pagerank site.....
I would agree with this and I have my own proof too. I have 2 websites that are identical in their function but have different content. The first is a PR3 because I bought 1000 directory submissions for it, it is also a good 3+ months older then the second site too. The second site is a PR0 and has over 100 keywords in the meta tags and gets more then twice the organic traffic the first site gets. There both topsites so the content is just different listings of other sites.
Do you honestly believe that Google is going to admit that they also consider it to be worthless? But that post is about directory masters playing the game anyway and they are making it quite clear that they dont like you doing it. Why dont you wake up to the fact even your mentors have tucked their tails between their legs and are keeping their heads low. Its time to change feet if you haven't noticed.
Loosers only shout. Winners never do it-- they keep on working hard and winning --not shouting on forums. They left the directory section --because it is no more worthy for them -- it has become a fools play-ground. Check-their directories from time to time--and you will know who is winning--who is loosing. As for --changing my FEETs-- sorry- I am still normal-- so I'll just read directory-section- will not post there. Its no more worth it.
I did about six months ago. Even at that time it was enough to convince me that Google has no alternative other than to pull the plug on PR. Its subsequently happened. Who are the winners and who are the losers at the end of all this? Dishonesty is not a virtue no matter how much spin you try to put on it.
Most of its due to whats called aggressive marketing. Its part of whats been termed a "flawed economy" that has been driven by "unsavoury business practises". So much so that Google has finally had to close the door. Its now time everyone moved on. Why is it taking so long for the penny to drop? PR might have been a useful tool if it had been allowed to grow but irresponsible greed and short term profiteering got the better of it.
