I can't seem to get it. I've been thinking about it for a while now, but I have no idea how to get traffic. It seems it's so much about luck rather then skill, with all the stories of peps getting bookmarked, or having some large corporation/News site report on one of your articles. How do you get traffic, I have been visiting forums for a while and advertising my website on appropriate forums, I get about 100 uniques from each forum and make some money every day. But if I don't post on forums, traffic is dead. My competition, or my so called competition is is umm not ranked first anymore for the keyword, umm okay. But either way, I can't understand how to increase pageviews. My set up is fine, my CTR is Over 3%, I can make money, but I don't have enough visitors. In 2 weeks (new site) I've got 1500 PV's. I don't think I can keep that up though, what do I do?
What you can do? You can be patient and keep working. Really we all go through this phase. Just keep working, you will see the results.
Yup, implement and you'll get results. Also have a strategy in place and you'll get faster results - whatever strategy you want to take on it's good to have start with an end in mind. Seems like you're only targetting forum to drive traffic to your site - check out my video the link is my sig and see if it will fit in your strategy.
To get traffic you simply have to make something that people want to see and want to tell people about. if one in every 20 visitors tells someone else your traffic will explode.
What other forms of advertising do you do besides posting in forums? Have you looked into article marketing and blogging? Those are my 2 prime sources of traffic.

You need to be targeting popular key phrases when you do your SEO... I can write 20,000 articles about lint and get 100,000 backlinks, but if no one is searching for it I'm not going to get any traffic. In the end, you're grinding away in vain if you haven't researched your niche, which is probably what happened with your site. Not enough research.
Yah it's the one in my site. Well my problem is that my competition top 20 for the phrase, at least 5 are .gov, 3 are edu and the rest all have over 100 000 backlinks. LOL, however, slot number 4 for the phrase is this petty site with less backlinks them me and I'm looking to knock them down a position. How am I supposed to compete with 5 million backlinks (site number 3)? I will, I am going to get in the top 10 I just am not sure how. one of the websites has over 9 million pages, again number 3.
Think article marketing can give you a boost on link development. You may try that. It probably gonna take little longer for you get on the first page. I have seen success getting on first page on competitive keywords with 20 million serps in 6 months.
I've started writing articles however, I'm horrible. My last test page got to the 6th position in a 11 million Serps in 9 months without me doing anything and currently it has no backlinks, some algorithm.
The algorithm is a formula that google uses to decide where a website belongs within the search engine results page (SERP). Be forewarned that this algorithm is 'updated' from time to time. A website can be in the first page of the SERPs one day and then find itself in the 20th page overnight if the algorithm changes.
i suggest to just being patient, analyze and identify where your traffic is coming. also find other possibilities on where your traffic will come from, do not limit yourself on forums and advertising, there are lot of ways on marketing, its just a matter of identifying which are effective.
I owned an adult site,it bring lots and lots traffic,so i would say if you want to gain good traffic,you need good content.most of my customers visited my adult sites many times a day.
