Hello Friends, I would highly appreciate appraisal from fellow members for my domain - reebok.in. I have recently acquired this domain and looking to further develop it as a online footwear store. I would also appreciate any feedback that anyone would like to give - kindly post your opinions - they are welcome. Regards, Seo Ocean
I'm sorry but I think using this domain could get you real trouble with Reebok.. it will only lose you money.
Yup, I'm sure you could get a problem with Reebok, but maybe Reebok is not a trademak in India, if yes, you could have a problem...
This domain is the key to enter to the world of laws. You'll possibly meet some lawyers and talk to them. And also Reebok can send you a kind mail for the lucky owner of this domain
I am owning msoffice.in and i made a search at uspto.gov for "ms office" and "msoffice". There is not any trademark issue for them. There are trademarks for "microsoft" or "office xp" but nothing for my domain. Then I made a search for reebok and there are some trademarks about reebok. There some websites like excel.gen.tr which does not belong to microsoft and i haven't heard any lawyer call from microsoft to the owner of the website. I think it can be related with the way you will use the website.
Actually reebok is a dictionary word as its a African antelope. If you were to create a site that would focus on these animals then I don't think that Reebok can sue you.
Well i dont see any issues - frankly !! Look at http://www.reebok.us - it isnt having a trademark issue !! Similarly reebok.info and reebok.org are registered to private users - and have the domain for more than a couple of years. I think only if i start selling shoes on it - will i infringe the trademark. Feedbacks are still welcome. Seo Ocean
I agree, this is a law suit waiting to happen, plus you will loose the domain and all your expenses associated with it.
That's what I love about Digital Point. People post things all the time without reading the thread. They read the first post, then they reply. The guy shows links to other sites using the Reebok name, but unaffiliated with Reebok. They haven't been shut down. Obviously it isn't an issue.
Its the name of an Africian Antelope, but I can't see how that can make you a lot of money, unless you sell shoes, in which case you would be sued. So Reg Free.
