Apparently www.whateverlife.com (myspace layout site) attracts thousands of visitors a day and the owner (whos only 17) is raking in $40,000+ a month. Well anyway, according to Alexa.com many other sites get more traffic than her site. Does this mean that they are making around the same amount (or more) of money as her?
The thing is though, www.whateverlife.com is making all of her money through ads (and thats just ppc click ads like Adsense). She's not selling anything (she gives the templates away for free). The equation for her success seems to be: Lots of Traffic + Lots of clicks on ads = $$$$ Wouldn't someone with more traffic than her just have to make more money than her? I'm just wondering. I'm just trying to work out how much money sites like www.newgrounds.com (which gets more traffic than her site) would be making..
and she has attractive and interesting site structure. Others just have links on the left menu bar and some graphics + jumping smile ads.
I've read that she make a killing like more than 1 million dollars a year and she's only 17 years old. Crazy huh?
Yeah and she's not even in the top ten in Google under myspace layouts.I've heard that freelayouts or freeweblayouts is worth $3 million.
Jeez I had no idea that people were becoming millionaires by giving away Myspace templates for nothing. I must be in the wrong business!
Im know, I'm jealous too. The great part about myspace layouts is they advertise themselves. The more she gives away, the more visitors she attracts.
Those sites make a lot of money, but I think the market is saturated and I wouldn't start such a site today. Rob
With a website like newgrounds....what would i have to do if i wanted to place a few of those games on my website. Please help im fairly new to interenet business etc? Could i just embed the games or do i have to pay legal fees?? Cheers,
