    and usually, spyware will do so without letting you know it.

    How can one get virus through the browser if he does not execute or download anything .... just checked with AVG and Ad-aware ... nothing found ....

    Let me repeat ! I visited the site in the first post and downloaded AVG and Ad-aware ! Updated everything and checked the computer for any viruses and spyware. No viruses and no spyware found ....

    Can you please describe the process of getting virus by visiting some website ?

    AVG is notorious for giving false positives and not picking up real threats, the same can be said of ad-aware, although they are getting better.

    I won't tell you all the ways how you can get a virus just by visiting a site as it would in the same process tell people how to put a virus on thier website and that's stupid, although I can tell you that even an image can contain one if you know how to do it, you download an infected image you've downloaded a virus/trojan, call it what you want, same can be done using cookies.

    I can tell you that some computer software will pick up 'false positives' where others don't.
