I was completely unaware of something till ealier today when a member here pointed this out.

Here goes, il try and keep it simple.

I have in admin, setting to Yearly, that covers all paid links, but my Regular listings on my directory are permanent, and Featured are Yearly.

So when you reach payment page your seeing yearly, although i clearly state on submit page that regular listing will be permanent, leading obviously to some confusion for a submitter.

I hadn't taken this into account, but im guessing im not the only person offering my listings like this.

Is there a change/alteration i can make regarding this?

Yes but don't your featured revert to regular after a year?
I have payment set to unlimited, if a featured submitter doesn't pay after 1 year for a further 12 months then the listing stays for ever as a regular link.

Regarding Featured reverting to Regular after a year, i hope that is what happens.

By setting it to unlimited though, would that not leave your Featured listings in place indefinitely, and maybe require you manually disabling them? out of curiosity have any of your featured listing reached their end yet for you to see what happens when they do?

Well, I have all my featured on an excel sheet and will check what happens in January when my directory is 1 year old. I feel this is a failing of the PhpLD script that it doesn't make it possible to set regular and featured for different timespans and doesn't make it clear what happens after 12 months.

I need to find a solution to this as i like my current setup of Regular/Permanent & Featured/Yearly.

Admittedly through my own ignorance i didn't notice the contradiction between my submit page and payments page, but i think its overlooked possibly by many, ive mentioned it over at phpld forum but intend to ask elsewhere too, i need a solution.

    To keep it clear:

No matter what type of link - if it is set payed - have same expiry time.

By default payed FEATURED link after expired - is no longer displayed.
It is not changing into Regular one after expired.
Same is with REGULAR link if it is payed.

With some knowledge of PHP and the script it's preety easy to change those settings to anything you wish.

Also if using expiry date for any type of link - you should check if it is working.
Just edit featured link and check if date expiry field is not empty.
If it is empty - your system will never work correctly and needs updating.

I'm sorry to say, but this is what I found on dozens directories I worked on.
Also on those I installed my Link Renew mod and had to clear (correct) required functions.

I now have both options... yearly and perm for both regular and featured links. Almost 2 weeks ago or a week, i lost track of time, i had a new payment system installed which makes it easy for me to know who submitted yearly or perm. Dargre link renew mod looks great also.

dargre regarding my current problem that i have, this is on 4 directories that i have, 1 running v3.1 and 3 running v3.2, would you be interested in doing a private job for me? but what i mean is possibly creating a text file so that once its sorted how i want, it could then be performed by myself on my other 3 phpld directories.

And what im referring to is my setup in my post on this thread, naturally il pay you of course, i really need to have it as a mod, if you want to call it that, im no stranger to installing mods myself, i just need the neccessary changes written please.

    thanks
