How do you do that? Is the camera in an oven with the popsicles? Or is it hot enough in Texas to just let the popsicles sit on the counter and melt like that?

if I told you that, then everyone would be recording spy

they are sitting in my tiny photo studio where in the summer it gets rather warm, probably 82 at the time of filming. The TLV enabled me to take 1 frame every 2 seconds over the span of 2 hours.

so by that time they had melted for sure BUT in this particular case it was not fast enough to show much movement. I mean yeah, you can see them melting in the 8 minute video it recorded but it's boring.

So I take the video and compress the time (actually I can do that to any video). So the 8 minutes now becomes ~ 4mins but still, not quite enough action or bare naked ladies (band name) or what DP'ers want to see)).

I then insert a velocity envelope and increase the playback by 300%...so now it's cookin!! so 8mins to 4mins to 50secs

that's why it looks like they are melting quite fast and steadily.]

if it was winter, I'd introduce heat on them for sure in the form of a small space heater but I don't want the paint to melt in the summer ya know!

You lost me at velocity envelope, but I think I get it. You just have skillz and your super cool. That's what the rest of that meant, right?

    Do any underwater TLVs yet?

    SSC! that's me :)

I'm still fitting the camera to fit into the housing properly; I'll go do that more soon. My next problem is figuring out an in home UWTLV! stick it in the toilet tank (up top) and flush 17 times :D

We had a soft case for the cam that I think will work great. I started cutting into it and have not finished yet. But I've committed to it since I went and bought a new case since i modified the old one :p

    so bascially no!

I am man very few word :)

Oh, please don't do the toilet thing... Bad idea. But since I don't like it, maybe it will be a big hit here on DP.

I think the tank would be funny, but I don't want to waste all that water

what else is there for long sustained water shots though....I could fill a tub and send 202-303 of our daughters toys in for a splash :D

inside of a dishwasher would kick ass but how do you keep it cold water only but more importantly, how do you light it!!

Start doing a rain dance. And don't forget about Poolio II - BTS! Dishwasher would be cool if you could figure out how. You've already done the fish tank...

Didn't you think this through before you bought the underwater housing??

Must be nice! I'm to cheap to spend anything! (I know, it's a rare trait in a woman!) I think first, come up with ideas, consider the price, think about what else I could do with the same money, decided I don't really need it, and then don't spend anything... :D

well I liked it and disliked it. I liked the colors, I liked the melting. But I didn't like that it reminded me of weiners. that's probably my issue though.

what about a candle melting? a log burning? sun across the sky? sunrise/sunset/sunrise/sunset...make it go for a couple days on top of your roof.

my wife is exactly that way...very "frugal" err practical ;)

    I'm impulsive!
    weiner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah, it's you :D

thanks for the ideas...log burning, there's a good one!!

did the candle already and sunrise/sunsets are pretty generic been done a million times...maybe I can find a scenic vantage point and then def. do it!

good idea(s), but stuff like that you would be better off taking still pictures of it over the course of 2 weeks or whatever and then animating the pics :)
