I have an forum that needs help to grow. I can hire posters, designers, coders, pay for traffic, but is anyone offering their services as a forum manager ?

I'm looking for someone who can identify problems, recruit members, manage posters etc.

Be careful investing a lot in your forum because 99 percent of the time the people who I have seen invest a lot in their forums have not made it back or even close to back as it requires a lot of attention and constant recruiting of members until it will stay active. Best thing to do is to make contests which will cost you less in the long run and does about the same thing as paying for posters but instead of paying $10 for 100 posts it will make it around $100 for thousands of posts.

This is one of my secrets to create forums fast. I do a contest where lets say you need 5 posts to enter. Once you have 5 posts then you can refer friends and for each friend you refer that has 5 posts or more you get a ticket in the drawing for the prize and the prize is usually something pretty good. Run this for a month or your desired time (not too long tho) and you will find around 30 active posters on your board within a week or so if prize is good enough.

That's some good advice, but I would recommend having some traffic first. Advertise your site on some forums and get your site high in the serps.

Thanks, primeelite, I have definitely considered a prize but it's difficult in my niche. I'm looking for a gift card provider atm to fill that need. Stable traffic may be a problem for that plan unfortunately.

I'm pretty sure after many years (and I currently estimate over 50,000 posts) on forums I know what attracts people to post and stay. It's very difficult creating that from scratch though.

Great advice, but what are some good prizes?

Ya, it takes a lot of hardwork and patience, but one thing that you should always remember is not to give up, and keep working on it.

Best prizes I have figured out are just $$$$ through paypal as well as giftcards towards your niche.

'Adult' - it's a sex/porn/fetish/erotica forum. I like to think it's a tasteful thing, I'm discouraging the posting of porn in favor of discussion etc.

Great advice. I will stick to your guideline should I promote my own forum. It definitely looks like a smart marketing tool.

yeah that niche may be harder to promote to the masses as many websites that get you mass traffic don't allow adult. Best thing to do is do that refer a friend thing and give them a free pass to a porn site or something I dont really know haha. I am sure you could think of something. I do not know much about marketing the adult side of things but I know there is a lot of money in it
