Get any one with no annual charges. ICICI will be a good choice.

Just make sure you pay the bills on time. The interest rates and service charges for credit cards are pretty high. However, these apply only when you don't pay your bills on time.

I would go with citibank. I have been using them since 2001 and I have no problems with them.

Credit cards are for suckers. Get a VISA (or whatever) debit card - spend the money you've already got :)

Credit cards are great if you know how to use them. If not anyone is in trouble :) Always pay them off and never "borrow" money from your CC.

They can pay you if you know the system ;)

What is evil is how much they let you borrow. In the UK my limit is somewhere around the £25000 - £30000 mark. What kind of a fool would borrow that much on a CC? The interest would kill!

Most Indian debit cards cannot be used online. They are also not accepted in many hotels etc.

Credit card is a much better choice for a webmaster.

No idea about India. But I use my Australian VISA debit for everything (online/international and offline), never ever been declined for any purchase.

Plus I've got the 'security' of knowing that if somebody steals my CC number, they're going to get a sad surprise when they realize how little I keep in that account ;)

There are some cash back schemes where you get X amount of dollars back for Y spent. So if you put all your business expenses on there and they run to a decent amount (5 figures plus) you could get a cheque back for 1 - 2 K.

Also look out for cash back offers for signing up and zero % offers for 12 months. If you get a zero % offer then invest that money in a savings account for a year and when the CC bill is due, pay it off and keep the interest from the savings account.

Anyway... Thats what I just picked up from reading around but have never tried and dont recommend anyone follow what I say without reading up about it first from professional advisors.

One thing about debit cards is that you DON'T get 'points' or bonuses to spend on airfares, crappy products etc.. Which is fair enough, considering the CC companies make practically nothing from debit cards.

Nah.. to me it's just their tricks to make you spend more by giving you an illusion that you're getting some benefits.
But I have a pathologic fear of debt and loans ;)

CCs are a hole that you'll just keep on digging.

I've NEVER had any debt or loans. None! (well.. maybe a few 24 hour beer money loans when I left my wallet at home)
I made a decision as a teenager to never get into the "I want it now" credit card loop.

If I don't have the money in my pocket, I can't buy it.
