    IMO, many (most) funny movies are really stupid; The industry aims to please the Lowest common denominator (Figurative uses)

    This years movie "Knocked Up" was a bit above average.

    One of the funniest (and somewhat intelligent) movies ever made:

    One of the funniest (and somewhat 'smart') movies ever made, IMO, was 'Trading Places' with Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd.

    Joe Dirt is one of the funniest, a bit gross sometimes.

    Scary Movie series is good too, especially that Tom Cruise-Oprah Winfrey show bit in part 4.
