How many infractions have u gotten on dp

I think, the 1 year or so I've been a member, I got like 3 or 4.

The first one I got, was the first week of joining for something called 'bumping thread'.

Well, I wanted people to know about my Linkspub and said to myself, hey these forums are cool.

All I gotta do is keep replying to my thread and it's gonna stay on the top forever.

I thought, wow, what an idea, I'm smart. All these other people probably haven't figured out this neat little trick.

So the idea was to keep my thread on top for like 6 - 7 months and then rest a little.

So here goes.

Ok, im on the go.

So Adnan goes trucking down to his thread at lightspeed.

Replies something like

'Awesome Man'

Then we time stuff.

I figure a self reply every 15 mins is good too keep my thread where I want it to be.

So every 15 mins, Here I am replying to my thread.

Somehting like

'Come on guys, this directory is cool'

Well, It's working. My thread is on the top and people are viewing it.

Oooooo I scored, I'm a genius.


I think on the 45th min or the 60th minute I receive an email

'You have received an infraction at Digital Point Forums'

Reason: Bumping Thread

What's this, infraction????

I never heard of that.

O, so thaaaaaaaaaaaaats why all these people don't keep replying to their own thread.

Cause they'll get busted.

That part never even occurred to me. Never even came close to my ingenious 2 pound brain.

So I guess, Einstein probably was smarter then me after all.

 

5 ... mostly for things that I didn't know was actually considered "against the rules".

Since I joned.. I have 2 infraction.. one for posting affiliate link in the post. and another one is that I Hijjacked one thread mistakely.. hehe.. lol.

 

And I was suspecting this when I started reading the thread (as this has already been discussed here like 'how many infractions points you have' etc). Now you have one more Keep on making more threads like this and you will have few more infractions lol

 

Well the guy was nice enough to reverse the infraction.

I got good credit.

Actually I usually hang out in the directories forum, and never knew about this General Chat thing and just started coming here a few days ago, to kill some time.

 

I don't think I have any. You really need to explain what bumping is?

this is an update of the post i made in another forum

Put thread in BST main forum instead of services sub-forum

It's not really a big deal or anything though, it's just a warning.
