What would you charge per a month to guarantee at least top 10 ranking in Google for a highly competitive keyword such as, "XXXX" or "XXXX"

That is a highly competitive couple of terms. For someone wanting those terms your looking at the 10,000 to 15,000 per month range on price.

How are those dollar amount based on? What kind of work requires that much money? Article submissions? Link Building? Directory Submissions? I've been in the fitness industry for awhile and I don't know one company that would pay that much amount of money to have top 10 ranking.

There are many factors that go into our pricing. First of all your probably not going to target just those keywords. Then we look at what it would cost per month in clicks to rank for that term in Google Adwords. There are also several other factors.

You also have to realize that there are probably 1,000s of other sites, also spending a good deal of money on seo, who are way ahead of you as far as page rank and search engine rankings go. So you need to make up for lost time by being very aggressive, (not black hat btw) and spending the appropriate amount of money in the beginning. When you do start to get rankings, the amount of money you spend will decrease by quite a bit, but you will still need to spend enough to stay ahead of your competition.

There is no possible way to guarantee anything when a third party is involved, aka google. So if someone does come along and guarantees a top ranking on even a slightly less competitive keyword, that's your first sign of foul play. Notice that neither web gazelle or myself said we guaranteed top 10, but it is possible to be about 99% sure that the seo that I know how to do will get top 10 in about 6 months or so, although that timeframe may be too low or high based on how competitive bodybuilding actually is.

Very good question. It isn't possible to guarantee a top ranking in a search engine since rankings rely on a 3rd party (the search engine). I cannot promise anyone that their site will be number one for any search terms. Instead what our guarantee is for is the services that clients invest their money into. We guarantee that we will do certain things to optimize a site; things that have brought top rankings to other clients. Then the price is based on how much work will be involved to attain the desired search term ranking of our clients.

Right and the price I mentioned wouldn't be for just 2 search terms. It would cover many targeted search terms.

I just can't justify paying that much amount of dollars which is more than my mortgage, 2 car payments, servers and other personal expenses combined. I think that's insane and makes it unreachable to most small businesses. Plus, I know nothing is guaranteed.

I told you what kind of prices you would be looking at based on the information you gave me. We have a form that you can submit for free to get an S.E.O. proposal. You would then be able to get a better idea of what your paying for and what we would need to do to get you the results your looking for. If your serious and have a decent marketing budget you should submit the free proposal and find out what exactly we could do for you.

We are not wannabes and our CEO has met Aaron Wall.

Aaron Wall is definitely someone worthy of mentioning in every seo circle. Although, he's not a God, and he can't guarantee anything either. He'd probably be the first to tell you that as well. So good luck trying to find someone who will give you a better deal, and hope that they give you the time of day for less than 10K.

There is a lot of crap services out there. That is where you have to do some research. Look at who runs the company and their reputation. Look at the clients of the company and see what kind of results they are getting. Anyone who knows what they are doing and is going to give you your money's worth, is going to charge in the same general range that I stated.

Well thank you for providing some feedback as I have found reputable providers that will do it for less than 10k. Will I use them or learn the trade myself?

I think I'm going to opt in teaching myself and saving myself the dollars as SEO is not rocket science.

Here's some free advice that wont' cost a cent. Add MORE hot chicks to your site, and definitely keep redirecting through alexa, it's a very important number;)

Oh, and create a sister site about plastic surgery, that should about do it.

By all means do it. Learning SEO can save lots of money but it is an ever changing industry so you need to plan on having to update you knowledge every day. But, thats what I did and after three years of learning I got hired on with a professional SEO company.
