I just bought text-link ads for my blog today. Both of the links will be up for a month. The first site has PR6 on the homepage and PR3-PR6 on almost every sub page. My link will be on the side bar on over 600 pages. The second site has PR4 on the homepage and PR0-PR2 on each subpage. My link will be on the side bar on about 30 pages. The topic of both sites are marketing/advertising/SEO and my site is about making money online. So I have a few questions: 1.)Will this definitely help me get a good PR? 2.)When can I expect my page rank to change? 3.)Will the fact that the links are only up for a month hurt me? 4.)Is there any chance that this won't make a difference at all? I'm obviously pretty clueless about this. Thanks in advance for any advice you give me -Crystal
You need to get more links from directories and other sites. Buying links for one month might give site a boost but it will not last.
Great, so I have to spend even more money, lol. Well, thanks for your advice. But you think it will definitely have an effect even if it's small?
Yes it will work, Whats your budget ? I've PR3 Domain + PR2 Subpages .. If you like i can put your link on my site. Imran
This is in no way a flame but how are you creating a site about making money online yet you don't understand the basics of SEO? Just wondering I do realize there are a lot of ways to make money online with out knowing SEO, but.. yea.. Also don't buy links go earn them, making money online is a hard niche to get into, but it follows the same law that all other niche markets do, make quality content and link it to your site, or have quality content on your site.
I do get link backs to my site. My site is 2 months old and I've had a couple bloggers write posts about my site without no incentives. :-D. The problem is I have a new domain now (the old one was a blogger domain), and I want to get back to where I was quickly. As for the money online thing, I don't talk too much about site promotion, more about revenue sharing forums/social networking sites, etc. The tagline is "creative ideas to make money online" so I try to talk about things that most people aren't covering.. As for buying links, I may be interested to buy more in a week or two. I will PM you when I do
It will help but if i were you, i'd continue gathering good links if you want to stay or get higher SE rankings.
1.)Will this definitely help me get a good PR? Nothing is a definite. It may or may not. 2.)When can I expect my page rank to change? Pagerank updates arent visible liek they used to be on a monthly basis. The toolbar updates every 4 months or so but your internal PR is not known. Just because the toolbar states a PR doesnt mean thats the one Google goes by. 3.)Will the fact that the links are only up for a month hurt me? They wont hurt you but links have more value the longer they stay up. The links you bought wont have enough time to mature to give you any boost. 4.)Is there any chance that this won't make a difference at all? Most likely they will not help. My suggestion is to go and find some directory submission sites. You can usually get a few hundred perminant links for $80 or so. http://www.directorymaximizer.com is one that comes to mind. I've used them before and was quite pleased with the results. No I am not affiliated with them BTW.
While back-linking is the best way to ensure an excellent page rank, you need to ensure in turn that the list is extended. Good luck with your site.

quality backlinks = better PR PR don't rely on the quantity of your backlinks but the quality of each backlinks.
I checked my backlinks the other day and I actually have a few PR3/PR4 sites linking to me. So that combined with 1 month on a PR6 site I think might do the trick. But I will check out directory maximizer. Thanks
To start off, PR is not the be-all-end-all of SEO. PR is a measure of LINKS and link quality, which is the be-all-end-all of SEO. 1)Yes 2)6 months or so 3)Yes, if google sees their sites AFTER your link is gone, then #4 applies. 4)Yes
Hi, 1. This should increase your rank. Still, you will have to be careful with the PR3 and PR6 pages. Sometimes, the PR3 might lower your rank or might not let you go over the PR3. You should check on this one - try using the PR6 first, than include the others (PR3/4) and see what happens. Use your month wisely. 2. Hope to see it's change instantly. 3. No, it will not hurt you. It will only boost your PR and possibly increase your SERP, but will not hurt you at all. 4. The chances are very small. Still, if you already paid money, use also other techniques in order to get a broader influence over your web site so after the paid period ends, your PR and SERP not to go down. Regards
