My question is what is better linking directly to a affiliate site with the use of a link. Or using your own landing page and if so how do you go about creating a landing page. One more question that slightly off topic. Does clickbank have direct deposit.
I guess that really depends on what you like better. I primarily use affiliate linking to a publisher's site. No sense writing my own sales pitches. Clickbank does not have direct deposit. If they did, then I could save $5.00 a month per account. One more thing -- Your link for "Get Google Pay-Per-Click Ads Free!" will most likely have a high return rate.
I made sales with clickbank before, though I never understood why people buy from those unbelievably god awful sales pitches, which require scrolling till ur finger gets sore. if you're good at making quality landers, then split test (send half to yours first, and the other half straight to the publisher's site). see which converts better.
if you feel that you can convince your visitors better than the sales page... if you wish to get traffic from search engines through SEO... if you wish to promote your own link rather than an affiliate link... you should create your own landing page ( if you know how )
Does anybody have a tutorials for making a good landing page. And how do I link directly to an affiliate page.
I think one is better off using landing pages in most cases, especially when using Google adwords. Plus if the sales letter sucks you can do a better job preselling them and then direct them to the order form directly. Over all you have much more control with landing pages and you can then collect emails.
That is an excellent idea. That never even crossed my mind about collecting email addresses with a landing page. Thanks, SilverStar
Just found this old post, quick question if I may, you say that one could send them direct to the order form directly, how can one do that? Surely the cookie would not be saved on the system, hence you would lose out on the commission. Or am I being naiive there, can you give a fictional example?
Ah, don't worry about that last question from me, I have discovered how to make your own sales page and link directly to the payment page without losing one's affiliate commission. All explained here: http://www.pqinternet.com/26.htm
IMO, landing page has higher conversion rates if done right. If your using Adwords, Landing pages are extremely important because if you make money "direct linking", you will eventually be squeezed out by competition. When an advertiser sees your ad in Adwords for weeks, they know you are making money by direct linking, so they will bid a few cents higher for your keywords, and use the same direct linking technique to bump you off the 1st page. Directing right to the payment page may anger the vendor. You will need to get permission from the vendor before you use such tactics. Most of my products sales come from bookmarkers. People come to a product page, like the product, bookmark it, check around, then come back to buy. Not many people actually "Buy Cold Turkey" in the first view. When you direct right to a payment page, it sets NO COOKIE, and if they don't buy right then, your out of a sale. Also, many vendors get upset when affiliates link directly to a payment page. If their product is not presented properly, and follow clickbanks rules, returns go up, and the vendor can be terminated from clickbank. Always get the vendors permission before linking to the payment page. My clickbank program uses a script which allows affiliates to link to different product pages, and direct linking is possible (and the cookie gets passed) but I require approval first. I must view the pitch page, then decide.
landing pages and adwords, that combination is one of the best things you can do to sell the product you are promting.
A good landing page will do wonders for your conversion rate, but I hesitate on using Adwords since there is a cost. Being a relative novice, that cost is expensive with a learning curve. I guarantee there are more cost effective ways to get traffic to your landing page. Thoughts?
Looking after my own products and promoting others: I can confidently say this. 1. If you find a profitable system with adwords via direct linking, yes you will soon probably get bumped (i hate that!). 2. Landing pages have MANY pros and few cons, for the products I run, my best affiliates convert with the landing pages that i premade, which they then changed some text/meta/seo, and some place higher than the main site for certain keyphrases. If done correctly your landing page should: a) Get you long term results if you take the time to change up the meta/seo and submit those pages to se's. b) Utilize a social bookmarking tool on your landing pages, it may go viral without you knowing or having to do anything. c) Allow you to get a domain name and forward it for your own branding and not competing for the main .com d) Well made langing pages are not meant to keep the customer on them, they are meant to quickly get them onto the merchant site, look for landers that are not long pitches but quick effective intermission pages. e) More control over the content, keys, presentation, tricks etc. f) Allow you to throw in your aweber or other forms for follow up/list collection. g) Easier tracking/analytic abilities if you make multiple landers w/their own sets of ads. h) If a product offers more than one landing page in their affiliate section, I recommend grabbing them all, changing them all to your own keys and submitting them all to se's, why do one if you can double/triple test your campaign. I have actually made over 90% of my sales with the use of effective LP's on both my own campaigns promoting cb products, as well as watching how my affiliates work on my products. The ones that succeed are the ones that indeed utilize both, however the ones that stick around are usually the ones that use landers (because they see more sales). Again this is just from my experience, and my products, others experiences may differ.
nice post guys, i'll give a try on this. lemme me see how it works to replace the vendor's page with my own.
