How do parked domains get traffic?

parked domain usually get traffic as follow

1 - type-in traffic, usually a easy to remember word/phrase/brand such as girls.com, controlcar.com
2 - typo traffic, usually typo of existing famous site such as mimiclips.com
3 - expired traffic, usually defunc site or some website owner forgot to renew their domain. so alot of traffic is still going to these domains. direct them to the correct keyword parking landing page to monetize the domain.

1 and 2: usually have long lasting traffic since it dont rely on any back links and have very targeted traffic.
3: eventually other sites linking to this domain will remove their link and SE will remove their pages from their index, traffic will slowly goes down.

 

Parked.com allows you to buy clicks and use arbitrage, but you have to be careful doing it. You can easily spend more than you are making. As others have said, parking is best for domains that already have some source of traffic.

How do you get visitors to click on your parked domains though? I usually get visits but no clicks :S

 

Try a domain like that at Sedo or somewhere where there are 1-click pages.
