Bum Marketing question

So I'm trying to do a few bum marketing articles to try it out. The article I'm reading suggests targeting phrases with low optimized results like "where to find dead squirrels" or "how to eat a banana upside down" or whatever.

However I'm wondering is this the right method since it seems that sure you can get high in the results for these phrases easily but also they may not have a high search volume at all. Is there some part I'm missing about checking search volume against these phrases or something.

    Anyway thanks for any answers.

Unless it has a average-high search volume, its not even worth ranking number one for. If 10 people a month search that, then was it really worth ever ranking for. You could rank 10th for a keyword that gets, 10,000 searches a month and come out far better. I would try to rank well for average-high search volume keywords.

With all due respect... You obviously DO NOT use the Bum marketing Method

Here's what I do... I write articles on "long tail key phrases"

for example I will optimize an article for the key phrase is rich jerk a scam

If you search for that key phrase on google using quotations, ie: "is rich jerk a scam"

You will see that there are only 270 competing webpages that have that exact phrase on their page

    check it out Here

if you optimize an article really well for that exact keyphrase you will stand an excellent chance at getting it ranked on the first page of results

If you go a step further and optimize an article for the phrase is the rich jerk ebook a scam you will have NO competing websites

    Check it out Here

(Rember when you use the keyphrase in your artcle you DO NOT use the quotations)

you only use the quotations in your search to see exactly how many websites there are with that exact phrase on their site

The search volume will be quite low but when you have many articles out there on different topics it all adds up very quickly

    P.S.
I would rather have articles ranking on page #1 and being seen by a small number of people, rather than have articles ranking on page #10 and never being seen at all.

    P.P.S
I offer this advise from personal experience... It works!

    Good luck

    Have a Great day

Hello. Here's the general rule I go by

The phase should return 1,000-7,000 searches a month in overture"
When you google search it with quotes, it should return 500-10,000 competing websites

All the phrases should be relevant to your product, which you'll have a squeeze page or a review for, linked in your Author bio box.

    Wow, That's quite the spread

With all due respect, that doesn't really make sense.

    Why 500-10,000... Why Not 0 -10,000

The truth is ... If you are truly using the Bum marketing method as outlined in the course, it should return less than 1000 competing wesites

The way I see it, 99% of websites are usually weak. If there is no website with an article strongly focused on it, and there's only a forum post, etc, then 10000 competitors might really be 100.

I agree, to rank with a keyword that have only 10000 pages in google is very easy.

I concur with both kemus and login, ranking highly with a targeted phrase with 10,000 or so non-optimized pages is fairly easy...

I agree with Vstar I can spend half the time getting ranked for key phrases that receive under 1,000 searches per month.

The thing about the "Bum Marketing Method" or what ever its called (never heard it called that but this is a technique I use) is I can rank 10 or more sites PER DAY for terms that receive under 1,000 searches per month.

So lets say my terms receive 500 searches per month, I make 10 sites per day in these small niches thats 50 per week (if I take the weekends off), thats 200 per month x 500 searches = 100,000 searches.. generally these sites can rank and be HIGHLY optimized for AdSence and convert very well.

If that isn't the Bum system you are talking about then I'm sorry and we can call it the Linsys system. :)

If each site is just making $2 per day and at the end of the moth I have 200 sites that make $2 per day then by the end of the month my 200 sites are making $400 per day, in a few months I'm making $thousands per day!

    BINGO!!!

It is Sooooooooo Much easier to get a #1 ranking with this method

Not only that, but your sites will also show up in the Serp's for obscure keyphrases that you didn't even intentionally optimize them for and because you have numerous sites it means more traffic and $$$

That sounds very interesting! When you say sites, though, do you mean whole new domains that you also purchase, or what?
