Trying to impress directory owners!

But as always - I must say that directory owners are great SEO themselves --and can help each-other--sustain the community.

 

I am a directory owner, troll....lol

I like the way your posts appear like you are speaking for all directory owners, the truth is you are not.

Most of the directory owners who come here are polite nice people. I am sure they don't need some tree crawler to be their spokesperson.

 

If you go back to the begining of the thread and actually read the well intended advice. You will see I was pointing out a problem most directory owners were not aware of.

To highlight this problem I looked at your description tags for the Blog section of your directory. It says the same as your homepage

Best Internet Resource is a meeting place between webmasters and net surfers and a truly valuable resource site for general internet surfers." />

It is a good general tag however it should be specfic to blogs.

 

I am just trying to be protective to new directory owners who might fall for some .............

But if you think what you said-- SO BE IT.

Protect new directroy owners from reading basic SEO advice, you are so kind.

The truth is, there are no real experts in the SEO world, this is because of Googles secrecy policy. Granted there are some very clever people who understand the workings of google more than others, but experts, hell no.

Rather than being a bully, you should thank me for pointing out the error on your site, you never know it could be the best bit of advice you have received this year.

 

Without getting into this argument. Is there a VB mod for meta descriptions? Surely, this would solve the problem?

Please --please check the 3rd link on my siggy and show me my errors ( It certainly does not have Meta tags -- its of little value to G -- will show ya a pool of 37 top SEO professionals on the web).

I put up my analysis --and also asked you some questions there.

Will you be kind enough to FIRST answer those questions rather than diverting the topic and showing your so-called SEO expertise?

I have mearly pointed out a problem that exists in most directories. Even the bigweblinks site, this is the description tag for the business section

Funnily enough a section I have listed my site in.

Just because this problem has been highlighted by someone new to this forum, it does not mean the advice is not well intended.

 

I am happy with the ranking of my site in google and the amount of visitors my site gets.

As for the topic of the thread which is the main discussion -I started, it was about a problem that directory owners are making regarding the descrption tag. If you do not understand what I mean then let me know and I will try and explain it in more simple terms.

Click on your Health section, then right click, view source, your description tag reads

Now do the same on your homepage and you get

My point is...The tag in the health section should be relevant to Health and incorporate the best keywords for that term.

 

Thanks for the advice, For sure I will start doing this with my general and niche directory.

 

All my inner pages have the title and the description dynamically generated depending on the content that is on the site. Sometime Google picks it up sometimes they do not.

Thanks for your kind words it is better to read than the abuse.

No one knows for sure how much importance google puts on each aspect of SEO. This is why I like to concentrate on all aspects as I view them all as important.

 

info, most aspects of SEO are simple principles, they are just made complicated by people in the industry.
