Google De-Indexing Pages - Even with 100% Unique Content?

Has anyone had this problem, of Google de-indexing quality pages with unique content?

I saw they just did this to one of my pages, even ranked #2 for a decent keyword. Wiped the page off the map - I wonder why?

You should see if you haven't violated any rules...google constantly changes up their algo tweaking it here and there. Also a simple thing as having your density too high for any given word could cause a temp automated penalty that will not let you rank at all for that keyword. Another good possibility is that you've lost a very strong PR backlink...there could be a million and one possibilities. You'll need to do some research to figure out why.

Do your subpages have infrequent content updates?

The site is about a month old, maybe the age has something to do with it?

    Not really tattoobit..

How long had it been indexed for ? If its a brand new domain have you taken a look at what it was previously through archive.org? You might have registered a banned domain..

I have the same bad experience and not sure if it is related to Sandbox effect. It is a 6 month-old site. For the first couple of months, I saw the indexed pages increasing 20-30 pages every 4 to 5 days. All the way to 1000 pages. It then de-indexed pages by pages and now down to 200 pages.
I don't think it is related to Bad links as I haven't submitted links for a while. I'm very cautious with link building. Like other people said Bad Link should not cause any problem. Otherwise, I'd submit all my competitors' URL to Bad Link Farms.

    Any thought?

Have you lost any backlinks lately?

It's quite odd they have been de-indexed. Are your backlinks all from one source such as article directorys etc?

They may be devaluing a certain link type your site has, hard to tell without the URL.

Your website got a boost because it was new.

I actually havent been doing a ton of link building because its a new site... but I am thinking about what theo-zzzz said and I think it might be because the site is new so it got a boost..

I have seen this happen with a couple of my sites before, getting a boost like this.

The only way to turn things around it seems is to build more deeplinks to your subpages, so I am going to do this and see what happens...

no need to worry it's normal and it's happing during the google updates for new websites when assigning the pagerank value, so all you have to do is just wait and give few days then you will get recovered... this happened to three of my websites witch was new, ranking, then disappeared. and suddenly a couple of days later on it shows in serps and even higher than before.

They dont usually de-index. Shades of grey in the toolbar are the order of the day but but once a page has been indexed it shouldnt disappear unless there is a problem. Confirm its not slipped into the supplemental index.

Yes, I've been having the same problem with some old sites and some new ones. I can tell the big *G is updating since most of my sites have lost a few pages (which hasn't happened lately).

Let's see what happens. (fingers crossed).

If you're getting too many links too fast then you might end up in the sandbox.
