New Feature on Google Adsense : Allowed Sites

Not at all, only if someone sets up a site of his own, puts your ID on it, and then "click-bombs" it. If they hit your legit sites, you could still be up da crick.

 

Because it is pre selected - Ads on all sites

Yes that's part of what most of us want. But far from being "fool proof"

The point is: if you do choose to specify a list of sites and you forget to put one of them, the clicks and impressions from that forgotten site will not be recorded and you woun't get the money generated by those clicks.
So, if you want to be sure all your sites display your google ads, you shouldn't specify such a list.

P.S. I was thinking when will google come up with such an idea, because anybody could use your PUB number and you could easily get banned.

 

But if someone uses your code to click bomb you...and the site where they have used the code is not on your list...you can sleep tight during the night while they click bomb on your account apart that, why in the hell would you forget a site to include?

Nice of them, but really not that useful,

If they add this it is about time they add something to prevent click fraud too. “Ignore clicks from IP if more than X clicks are received within Y hours from the same IP” or something like that.

 

They already do this. How else do you think they detect click fraud to begin with? Only thing is that they choose to ban accounts instead of just discarding clicks, because the "fear" of getting banned prevents a lot of fraud attempts to begin with.

 

I just looked at that picture and in my menu I also have Site Authentication.

Whoops old news I think, strange my menu looks different then the one shown on this thread. I looked at another menu (adsense blog) and it said "get ads, manage ads, color pallets etc.".
Everyone has differnet menus I guess.

To clarify a couple of points:

If you activate your Allowed Sites list and clicks are made on your ad code on a non-Allowed site (e.g. if someone has taken your ad code and put it on their pages, or if you create a new page with ads and forget to add it to your Allowed Sites list), the advertiser will not be charged for those clicks or impressions, and neither you nor Google will make any money off of them. Be sure to keep your Allowed list up to date!

The default setting is "Allow any site to show ads for my account," so if you haven't changed any settings or created an Allowed Sites list, your ads will continue to show on all sites, exactly as they always have.

This is an optional feature that some publishers already find quite valuable, but won't be useful for others. It was created so that publishers could have more control over where their ads are appearing. Feel free to try it out now, wait to consider it later, or keep showing your ads as you were before.

Well, Allowed Sites is back. I just re-activated it, and first thing it said was "There are unauthorized sites that have displayed ads using your AdSense publisher ID within the last week." The sites it lists are two Google IPs

I guess they still have some things to work out...

 

Does anyone not have this feature? I don't yet. Do you have to activate it.
