New Feature on Google Adsense : Allowed Sites

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by M-BenzForum.com, Aug 27, 2007.

Hello all, when i checked my adsense account i found new feature on my account. Allowed Sites.

you can use this page to identify the URLs that are allowed to display Google ads for your account.

    there is 2 option:
    - Allow any site to show ads for my account
    - Only allow certain sites to show ads for my account

To find it, please go to Adsense Setup and then you can find it beside Competitive Ad Filter.

    Thanks for time. :)

    This part is great:
So, if you forget a site, they still make money off of it, but you don't :)

    nah, read it again

you use this feature only if you dont want other people jacking your pub id and putting it on an illegal site, if u put it on other sites that are yours, and you didnt have it on the list, you'll still get money for it.

this is just an addition...nothing else

It clearly says "impressions and clicks will not be recorded". If you have 10 sites, but only put 9 in your "allowed sites", the tenth one will still show ads, but you won't get paid for clicks because Google will think someone is "jacking" your pub id.

If you forget to put one of your sites on the list (assuming you use the option), you'll basically be giving Google free real-estate.

It's not a big deal, I just found it amusing that Google chose to show ads even if they are not sure the site is legit :)

You don't have to add your sites if you don't want to. If you don't do anything you'll still get your impressions/clicks/money as usual. This is only if you want to stop *other* sites from using *your* pub id.

it would be great if google could also notify us about sites which are using our pub-id and are not on our list, this way we will know if we forgot to add a site and also we will know which sites use our pub-id

I think it seems like a good feature. For those with many sites it could become a pain to track and make sure they are all in there. Still quite good though!

Thats because default settings are "show ads on all sites", and in that case all your sites, as sites where someone can put your code show your ads, and count impresions and clicks.

But if you choose : "Only allow certain sites to show ads for my account", then you have to type all sites you have, if you want all earn you money.

Its great security feature. Green for Google :D

Heh... I was just about to make a thread asking about this. How easy it would be for someone to do that... and how to prevent it.

This could also be a quick way to disable it, if you catch someone in the act of bombing you.
