    Hello,
Can anyone give some advice on this:
At the moment, if my script is set up for "ferrari" there will also be adverts for Ferrari t-shirts. How can I cut these other results out, and have only car results?

You could set the search query to "ferrari -shirts" or something similar... or only search in the car related categories.

    Ok,
So what would the search query be?
    cars+trucks+ferrari
    cars+trucks+volkswagen
    etc?
It's necessary to specify the category?

I'm using BANS at the moment (gonna make my own script when I get time) and there it's possible to specify both category and search query. Perhaps this little overview of category ids will help: http://listings.ebay.com/_W0QQfclZ1QQloctZShowCatIdsQQsocmdZListingCategoryList
You should be able to only search for "ferrari" in the car category.

Or you could limit the results to items over $500

Can someone give me the xml parse?

jesus, $489 for an ebay script????????????????????????????????????????????/

thats riddiculous, bans is $97 and you have only just finished your script and you were having problems with it...

I congratulate you on being able to script it, but you won't make many sales at $489 when BANS has a really nice site and thousands of people use it...

Better off trying to undercut BANS and charging $50.... IMO, and no its not just because I want to buy it for cheap, I don't need a script any more, I'm giving honest feedback...

    You didn't read my post.
That price is for about 4 different scripts working together.
What's having problems with it got to do with it?
Do you think Google, MSN, Yahoo etc had no problems when constructing their applications?
Do you think the creator of BANS had no problems when he was writing the script? He got it perfect the first time?

I'm sorry luke but you are competing against BANS which is cheaper and has a lot of good feedback going for it, you are charging 5,6x the price of BANS for 4 scripts, 2 of which I will probably never use, RSS feed for an ebay store? video script?

I'm lost as to how you think you can charge $489, you won't get one single sale at that price, im sorry..

    Hello,
The other scripts are there on my site, in the menu on the left. The menu is made from the category name from ebay inserted into links to my search engine script, video script and rss script.

I've updated the http://buyacar.be site, not the other one.

Good idea guys - but is it possible to learn PHP without any basic knowledge of programming etc. What about MySQL etc.. I think we're gonna need it too.

Instead of buying scripts, why doesn't everyone spend a couple of minutes (maybe even an hour!) learning how to use PHP to parse rss feeds?

I don't really understand why anyone would buy a script to do such a basic thing.

It's like buying a bike and paying somebody to ride it for you :)

The time you spend learning even the most basic functions of PHP (or any useful language) will pay for itself a million times over.

Guess if you're not familiar at all with HTML, it must be hard to implement RSS parsing... In this case, paying $97 (or whatever) is probably worth it.

I just don't understand why people jump in the deep end without any html/php experience (and more importantly - no desire to learn!) - then wonder why their crappy broken pages don't get any traffic or clicks. :p

Because people still think affiliate marketing is a magic money-making machine that doesn't need any time-investing..
