CJ Leads.. Fishy.. Please give insight

    Hi,

I've sent napster about 40 leads, ($400) in commission this past month, and the terms are 10 days, then you recieve another $5 for sign up upon completion of free trial.

Well, I find it hard to believe that atleast 1 person did not sign on with the service, I don't know how napster works exactly for billing, but I am assuming they autobill you on the 11th day.

Now it is possible that every single person cancled the service, but I think that is highly unlikely.

Does anyone have any insight on this situation?

    Thanks

Are you sure you don't have leads confused with clicks?

gregking - I'm not sure what to tell you. I also find it hard to believe that out of 40 people trying Napster, none of them started a subscription. I have recently started promoting Napster as an affiliate (about a week now), so I haven't had time to wait for the $5 leads yet.

I did misspeak. I had more than forty clicks to Napster in the last 10 days, and nothing converted into a lead.

How many click throughs are you pushing through to get 40 leads?

Hmmm.... never thought about the Music arena. I found a "Music Etc..." offer on Azoogle. It sounds pretty promising. Offers for ALL countries, good fast and easy reporting. PM me if you want more info.

BRANDED PPC doesn't even convert too well for Napster. Probably one of the worst conversion rates I've ever seen for a branded campaign. I guess most people are still looking for free music with Napster.

How much are you paying for each click? I'm trying to get 100clicks in a different niche using PPC. I am bidding .30 and still could not rank well enough to get any clicks. Did you create your own landing page?

    Marig:

Honestly, I'm new to affilate marketing and PPC advertising. This is my first test run I used with a $200 adcenter credit...

I spent about $150 of the $200 bidding max .30 per keyword, so for 500 clicks about $150, I've made about $190 profit without much effort at all.

It's a good enough start for me to see the possibilites that can come from affiliate marketing.

As far as the landing page goes I did not create one for this campaign, I am using a link redirect on a domain i own with the subdomain of "mp3".

I do know from just testing the waters though, that the amount of traffic that msn provides is very little.

Shoemoney did a Q&A at affiliate west that I just read, where he mentioned how he uploaded tons of keywords into adcenter and analyzed the data when he was promoting ringtone offers, I don't know if that strategy still works but I think I am going to give it a try because without tons of keywords the traffic is just not there, from my experience.

    Hope that helps

As Johu mentioned, even branded PPC doesn't work very well for Napster. Choose a different product in the same industry if you're really interested - Rhapsody, eMusic, and Yahoo Music all covert better in my experience.

I have also generated a few leads to Napster and got paid $10 for each lead. There was absolutely no issues with it!

Right, but did any of those $10 leads convert to $5 later? You get $10 each time somebody signs up for a free trial and then another $5 if they start a paid subscription when the trial is over.

gregkin had 40 people sign up for a free trial but 0 continue with a paid subscription...and he just thinks that's a little fishy.

It's unusual - People know what napster is and you would think that at least one of the leads turns into a full member.

I would guess they are scrubbing

It is not just a click, visitor has to fill out some forms with full name and address, ect. and some leads also require cc too.

If you just click and made 1 dollars, everyone who promote Naps. will be millionaire.

So how much do you spend on 500 clicks? and make back only 400 dollars?
