Whether any Bidding directories i.e bidding scripts provide any monthly/Yearly option along with the bids?

Whether there is any feature like yearly expired option in a bidding directory?

    I don't think so.

I don't see how can you do this, unless you don't mind to be outbid by another site. Then I can understand your question.

Yech. I can't stand paying monthly or yearly. When I see that the quoted price is not a one-time permanent fee, I generally leave my submission unfinished/unpaid.

Of course, if I had a pay directory I'd love to be paid monthly or yearly! :)

I am telling about bid directories

I like to have a bid directory where users pay monthly.

so it would be good for them as they can move away if I I do n't drive traffic to the site.

Me neither, I think it should always be a permanent link because the larger your directory is, the more traffic you will receive. No body want to browser a directory with 12 links. I seriously think that monthly is bad but yearly, I think the best is the link stay active one year after last bid so someone could bid $1 per year and keep their link active.

    My 2 cents.

there is no script to do it. You would have to manually remove the listings.

I dont like the idea much, so wouldnt be forking out money every month for one that did.

Bidding directories with yrly/monthly bidding... lol :D It sounds joke to me if implemented and widely used.

Imagine a bid made of 5-10k and gone after a year ... uhmm MONTH.

    Totally agreed :)

Or if at all you subscribe, you pay that $2k every year, it would be worth it if it was something like a pR7 or PR8 page :D

    It's not a joke!

Driving traffic to the websites is main aim for a bidding directory!

if the bidding directory does n't drive traffic to the website then you can cancel the monthly/yearly payment

It is my friend. Would you bid for something in a high range expecting traffic for some time and then the link goes off?

Quite simple really it would work if people are willing to pay it. Money would get poured into the directory gauranteeing traffic. But like others i would dread the prospect. Some directory owners would doubtless pay this to be top of very high traffic directory.

Have to say won't get my support though.

I think a yearly option after "updating" or "adding" a bid is a nice option.

Being new to directories and looking at the work in your bid directories ( which is great ). i see them different or perhaps with an untrained eye ( so be gentle )

But the idea of a monthy or yearly fee has merrit and i see that it could or may work if programming was available for it somewhere along these lines.

As it stands now if wanted to list in one of these bidding directories and to be listed front page i would soon need to pay some bigger $ to get that listing, which leaves me 3 choices

pay the $ to get the listing
select a bid directory that i could afford to get a top listing in ( but then risk loosing that ranking )
    take a lower listing
or not list there at all

In that i would say there will come a point where everything will max out and become static both for the directory owner and the potential customer, yes you will still get the normal listing but i see many moving on especially with all of these new sites i see.

Now with the option suggested it opens a new way to do things, lets say the minimum review / bid price or whatever the correct term is, is $1 now lets say that bid price had a life span of 1 month (30 days).

What happens then with a bid directory is this, i could list in the directory and say to get front page i needed to spend $50 as an example, but at each 30 day cycle my bid would drop by that $1 and now be worth $49.

This does several things, for the directory owner it allows them to continue to get top ups or allows the customer to slowly invest more $ and creep up to the top and maintain there listings if they so wish.

Should some one fall to $0 they would drop out ( I'm guessing )

Even though a bid directory is not for me ( at this point ) i do see some merrit in the idea, and a win win for owner and customer.
