Hmm, if you are going to use the Redirect Url you'd have to consider what is more important...another backlink or a better Alexa rank. Could be a tough choice.

Alexa redirect link: I still laugh at the things that some people think up, that I would never have found out in a million years.

I have found that the widget does not increase Alexa rating at all, actually. I have implemented it into several sites, one of them which has massive non-webmaster traffic, but the Alexa actually went the other direction.

Part of that problem might be the "non-webmaster traffic" as I don't think any non-webmasters have the Alexa toolbar. Non-webmasters usually have a Google or Yahoo toolbar, but very few of them have any interest in an Alexa toolbar or even know that Alexa exists. If they have Charter Cable as I do, the F-Secure virus and spyware checker that comes with Charter actually tells you that it's spyware or malware and prompts you if you would like to remove it. What non-webmaster is going to keep it on their computer if the virus and spyware checker is telling you to remove it?

This seems like a lot of trouble for a search engine only webmaster use. I really don't put much weight on Alexa as it is.
